Default Door Lock Rods

Can I assume these rods should not be bent like this?
While I was in there, I removed the latch mechanism to clean the crud off of them and lubricate them.
I also have to replace, which I have, the right door since it is for a coupe and I have a convertible before I have the car painted.
Can anyone tell me what this wire is for? As I was removing the antenna this was hanging back there. The only yellow wire I see in the schematic is for the left signal/brake.

Hello,
The rods are typically straight.

I just ordered replacements for mine. Should be straight. I thought about placing a small section of metal tubing over the rod where the threads screw in, just to add some support. If the long rod is at an angle to the door latch connection, the threaded rod will tend to bend. Try to get the long rod out away from the inside of the door, so it’s in line with the latch. Good luck!

Hello p,
I believe that typically for a standard antenna the only connections on that bolt is the antenna ground strap and a rear lighting harness ground connection.
Perhaps with a power antenna there's another connection?
Notice the 'star' washer under the strap.
Regards......

Order some of the funny looking rod clips, they will break or walk away. There may be other parts that you need once the new rods are installed. Look in some of the Corvette Vendors Catalogs for detailed illustrations of all the various door latch/lock parts.
