Thanks everyone for such an awesome turnout. I did my best to make it a fun cruise and I look forward to planning another one in the future. Thanks again to Bob for helping out at the restaurant. Thanks to Joe G. and John Perez for helping with delivering and bringing out the cake. Thanks to John Chluski for taking the time to get some great footage of us on the road. Now, as Joe said, let's all get together next time at the Corvette Challenge. Even if you aren't running, it's a great way to spend a Saturday night.

I meant to make a flyer for today about all the track events that we do. If anyone is interested in doing Autocross or road course events PM me. I am with 3 groups that do alot of these events at Sebring, Homestead, and Moroso. For the drag racing, that is all Bob!!

Check out:

http://safemotorsports.com/

This is great fun, and the group is a great bunch of folks. If you join, tell Phil the treasurer that Joe Gutierrez sent you! He gives discounts for those who bring in new members (I think Mark's_c5TT got the discount for me).

If you are a straight line kind of guy, check out

We all owe our fearless leader Bob a debt of gratitude for getting this Challenge set up for us. Thanks again Bob!!

OK, but seriously Bob, I really do appreciate your efforts in this. Like I said, the spot I parked in wasnt too far. I think if I would have arrived later than most of the crowd I would have used it.

Roadracing on a roadcourse track. Its lots of fun and an all day event in the cockpit, not 10-13 seconds

OK, I'll lay off the boys in DRAG (ooops, did it again - )

But seriously, come down to Homestead, a 2.2 mile course, on June 4th. Doesnt cost anything to watch. You can also ride in anyones car for a $35 fee and there will be plenty of us to give you rides. But you will need a to get a compliant helmet (check their website for compliancy)

Homestead Speedway is a 2.2 mile roadcourse with 13 turns I believe. Top end speed on the straights range from 110's - 140's depending on your car.

Sebring speedway course is 3.7 miles with 17 turns and the straighst are longer. 120's - 150's on the straights, again, depending on your car.

There is also Moroso which they wll doing in August I believe.

If you do get a helmet bring your vette cuz you just might want to get out there yourself. Like i said you will need a helmet but no rollbar, harnessbar, or harness is required although it is stongly recommended.

Hope to see ya there!

Thanks again and I look forward to being involved with this fantastic group for years to come-they'll have to pry the steering wheel from my hands!

I second that thought Joe Ganzi. I had a blast at Sebring and still managed to keep my cloths on somehow. Thanks for coming out to the event. I know how much work you went through to take your track car out that day. I had a blast being around my road course bud's and my Challange gang at the same time.

Roger---I am glad you liked the suprise cake. It was hard to keep that a secret from everyone. I think I only really told Jeff, John C., the two Joe's, and John Perez at first. Then, quietly told a couple other Challange guys online. The rest were as surpised as you, I hope. Thanks again guys for the donations.

John-- I really appreciate you taking the time to set up the camera as much as you did during the cruise. I got alot of positive feedback from the guys in the cruise. We felt like movie stars getting our 5 seconds of fame coming through Deerfield Beach.

Joe G--Thanks again for your help at the event with the cake. It was great meeting your wife and son. To all of you reading this, Joe's son "will" be designing our C8 Corvette in about 16 years when he is old enough. Also, all SAFE memberships go through Joe, but I want the Chin memberships, lol. We need some track credit to pay for this hobby.
