At the P.F. Changs, there was discussion of going somewhere far, far away... Such as Atlantic City or Vegas (apparently, gambling and prostitues are in high demand)...

I'd prefer atlantic city because we can rally-drive there. Flying out to Vegas would be cool, but then we'd have to go to the exotic car rental place and spend $200+/day to get vipers and ferraris so that we can rally drive out to the grand canyon. Seems like extra work, although now that I've typed that, it does sound like a retarded amount of fun.

Is there any actual interest in doing this? Post here, let me know what you're thinking.

You can't rent a lambo at Atlantic city?

I would vote for vegas but I'll go atlantic City! Talking to my cowokers they say there is more to do in vegas...

Think we could get a group rate for hotels in NJ? Maybe if we got enough rooms they would make a deal for us....

I'll be in Vegas April 8-15 anyway. If the group decides to go that route would love to hang out. I know a great Karaoke place on the strip

There is more to do in Vegas, but that requires more time off, more air plane reservations (who knows which airlines aren't going to go belly-up) and more money.....

I might be able to do vegas depending on the week. I should be able to do atlantic city whenever...

Also, before it gets warm, atlantic city is much more desperate to get people there, whereas vegas doesn't really care what time of year so there's no incentive.

Plan on taking 301 unless you want to spend $10+ in tolls

So it's settled on Atlantic City?

We'll make it a weekend thing? Drive up Friday evening or Saturday morning?

When I've gone in the past, I haven't slept in Hotels because the parking garage at the Taj is safe and my car is comfy... Does anyone know about hotels up in that area?

Is everyone in for just 1 night? Is there any interest in Friday and Saturday nights? I don't know if we can fill 2 days with gambling and eating mediocre food on a cold boardwalk

Last group question- what weekend should we plan for?

Feb 11
Feb 18
Feb 25 (Car show in Atlantic City)
Mar 4
Mar 11
** out Mar 18 ** Car care day...
Mar 25

I'd be fine with any of them, but I'd prefer Feb 25 or Mar 11. I have the last stuff going on those weekends.

Chime in with your availability!

Enjoy the trip - I am heading to Spring Mountain during that time and out of town on whichever I tradeoff with - Enjoy the AC trip though

I've been there about 4 times in the last 6 months. Have stayed at the Trump Marina and the Tropicana. The Trump Marina has nicer rooms, but is not on the boardwalk, so a little far from the main strip. The Tropicana is on the boardwalk and is the cheapest I've found. Be prepared to pay something in the $150+/per night range for any of the hotels on the boardwalk. It is much cheaper during the week, when rooms can be had for $75/night or so. There are lots of other hotels, off the strip and outside of AC that can be had for less than $50.00/night.

If you take the I/95N and New Jersey Turnpike route, you are looking at somewhere around $25 in tolls (round trip - $4 or $5 more going up). It usually takes me between 3.5 and 4 hours to get there. Parking is usually $4 or so (not necessarily per day, as it depends if you leave the garage or not)

I might be interested in attending if it falls on a date that I'm not working or out of town.

The Feb dates would be best for me (as long as there's no snow). I don't think i'll be in the states in March.
