Tennessee will launch a 30-day speeding ticket frenzy
beginning July 31, 2006. The state of Tennessee estimates that 9
million dollars will be generated in speeding tickets. 1 million will go to
pay state troopers overtime. There will be 57 state troopers on duty
at all times patrolling.
They will be patrolling the following:
I-24 east and west
I-40 east and west
I-65 north and south
I-75 north and south
Now 5 mph above the limit can justify a ticket and
every state trooper is supposed to pull a car over and write a ticket
every 10 minutes. They have issued 30 brand new unmarked Crown Victoria cruisers and they are bringing all their part timers on full time.
101.5 FM confirmed all of this.
Speeding tickets increase your insurance drastically, please slow
down and stay safe!!

It's a hoax. I sent an email out to all my friends because this was sent to me by an insurance agent friend thinking it came from the home office, but it wasn't.
The new Police Chief pushed his patrol cars out on the Interstates when he took over a couple of years ago. Violent crime has increased since the new chief's speed enforcement focus took affect taking police out of the high crime areas and putting them on the highways.
But who cares..... The city budget listed $6,000,000 in projected speeding fines. They are counting on it!
I have been traveling I-65 a lot lately and have definitely seen a lot more cops on the interstates in the past few weeks. So beware, and just remember. They have to catch you first.
Drove east through Nashville yesterday, coming from Jackson - went through town about 9:45AM - piece of cake all the way - no constabulary in sight at all

GOOD TACTICS!
Going through Nashville after the morning rush hour would ensure that all of the METRO Nashville speedtraps would have already made their morning quota.

I'll tell ya where I live in Spring Hill if the speed limit is 20 mph you better do 20 mph because if you don't get a ticket today you will tomorrow. They mean business eveyday of the year.
