The car will only get a salvage title if the insurance company owns the car. If you do the buy back the title will always remain in your pocession. They will just deduct the buyback from what they are paying you. If you just have some suspension damage the car is no where near totalled, you just have to factor in what the body shop is charging and to the insurance company the car is a 94 and not worth the investment to fix. Found out the salvage on the title only counts untill the car is repaired to the insurance companys liking or if I was to sell/scrap the car (neither of which I plan on doing).

Repairs should cost no more than $5000. Thats $2800 out of pocket.
