A friend and I are in but I'm foggy on the exact meeting place and time. Can we have some clearification on this? It appears others or confussed too.

I vote for later start, shorter ride. As was pointed out, we can start later, and those that want to do the whole ride have plenty of daylight. If you want out earlier, so be it. 9-10 start works for me...now what about a location? Only thing right now is weather....looks like rain Fri-Sun. I'm not so hung up on getting the Vette wet, but those roads are no fun if they're wet.

Are the details set yet? I would like to go, but need to know when and where. I have been anxious for another stroll to test the Blackwing and Ripper. My tires have been adjusted to 31lbs and ready for corner testing. Breakfast, lunch and or dinner is fine with me. Sunday is dedicated to whatever is decided.

The meeting location has alwasy been planned as the Windward Parkway exit on 400 (Exit 11 I think). There is indeed a Marriott there and we can all join up in the parking lot.

The early start was not so we could complete the trip early - it was to avoid slow pokes on the twisty curvies. Since it's getting to be prime color season, there's bound to be a fair number of slow pokes out there. Never the less, I don't mind a later start and a shorter trip. 9 AM seems like a good compromise. What about the route?

Mark & All: 9 AM sounds OK, though you've got a definite point about the "back markers" out leaf looking. We encountered this ad nauseum up at Deal's Gap this past weekend. Route is fine! Hope weather holds up....

George (Tuband) ~ come on over in the "clown car" and hitch a ride with one of us Vettes. That way you'll still get to come!! :D :yesnod:

Oh yeah, I guess those regular "Sunday Drivers" are going to cause issues for those of us who are there to push it a little (although not so much that a member ends up in the ditch this time). Meeting place, time, and route sound fine to me. Now we just need to keep our fingers crossed on the weather.

Clown Car

Actually, that seems much more appropriate than the Mean Green Machine

Unfortunately it's pretty official :cry

Start painting on Friday, let her set until Monday, then rub & polish for two days, with final inspect, etc. on Wednesday. Barring no further delays, I'll pick her up next Wednesday. Will post progress & pics on C4 General Section.

Mark or someone ~ is exit 11 approximately 11 miles up 400 from I-285? I never go up that way, so don't know the road at all. Trying to figure out the best way for me to hook up with the group.

400 starts in Atlanta inside 285. I'm not sure if the exits are by mile marker though. I don't go up 400 enough to know either. If it is by mile marker then it would be a few less than 11 miles from 285. 11 miles is probably in the ballpark though.

Jet,

If you are coming in from Callhoun (sp), you'd probably want to shoot in route 20 or something from I-75 that's going to cut you towards the north end of 400. Even if you had to come south on 400 to meet the group. You'll waste about 45 minutes if you take 75 all the way down to 285, then back up 400. I think there is also another route..maybe route 92 that meets up with 75 and on 400 is exit 12 or 13? My wife works in that part of town, so I am only a little familiar with the roads.

To the others....what's the plan if it rains?

That's the bad news. It looks like thuderstorms are forecast for Sunday. If so, we can try it the next weekend. Saturday or Sunday is fine with me, but I would prefer Saturday (so I can clean up the car on Sunday). :)

Hope the weather is good.

Weather Channel hourly forecast for Atlanta on Sunday shows rain ending by morning, clouds clearing out some by noon or 1 p.m.

You probably have access to more detailed weather, Ken. How about keeping us posted on the weather expected for the route we'll be taking. :D

Looks like I can't be there, seeing how I suddenly had to go to Philadelphia and all, for an unspecified amount of time. (work) :(

It looks like it's not going to clear until later in the day. It's doubtful that we're going to do it right now, but I'll keep checking this thread and also the weather. :(

If the weather is good, we'll hook up with the rest of you for the fall foliage cruise Sunday morning. If the weather is bad, we'll come anyway and visit with family.

If Aviator makes the call before we go to bed tonight, we won't wake up as early Sunday morning.
