Yes, the governor called and I'm at home...I don't feel very well so I'll be laying low for a while...
For now, a very quick thank you for all the well wishes...they mean a lot!...this forum is a very special group of folks which I've seen time and again...I never thought I'd be in the middle of anything though...
Yes, I am pizzed at Marc for starting a fund but I can't very well get to mad at the guy who saved my life....when he called me late on 8/12 the attack was only 10 minutes old...I thought it was bad heartburn and had taken some tagamet...then Marc called and knew I wasn't doing well...he made me hang up with him and call 911...the EMT's got there in 8 or 9 minutes and I was a full blown mess by then...
Thanks again, my friend...you saved my life that night...I have to go now but as my strength returns I'll have a lot more to say ...
COMMON GUYS! l Lets see some monetary support for Dan. This could have been a problem for someone in our own family. Believe me I work in a hospital as a RN & see some of the crushing bills that are produced from surgical/life threatening events as these. Some people have no support but I believe this forum can produce enough to get one of our own out from under a hard place. I'm sure that some of us spend almost half of that buying & modding our C5's & C6's over a course of a few years. I spoke to Dan when he was in the Hospital last week waiting for the surgery to be performed and his spirits were good than, in spite of his condition. Lets make his recovery less painful.
Glad to hear you are home and on the road to recovery...even though it will be a 'slow' road. I know that's going to be tough on you since you are used to going FAST!!! But that would be ...you gotta listen to what the doc said so we can see you on the track again in the future! ....will keep you in my prayers for a 'speedy' recovery!
Thank you for all the kind words...they mean a lot..I am trying to get my chit together but it will be awhile...my next hurdle is a blood test next week...apparently I am very anemic at present and I'm taking iron pills twice a day...trying to avoid a transfusion...
I am doing everything the doc's say since I do not want to go through this ever again...
Hey Dan good to hear your home. Eat alot of bran, salads as those iron pills will clog up your works if you know what I mean. You must have lost a far amount of blood in surgery so its not uncommon to be anemic for awhile.
