DaRoofer arranged and lead us on another great SouthEastern Va. cruise today. The group consisted of Jack/Joanne, Ron/Donna, Leo, Dave, and myself. The picnic at Belle Isle State Park was especially memorable. Mike, we saw a school of Manatees swim by in the Rappahanock River.  Jack wanted to throw in a hook but I told him not to.
We all had a great time and hope to see everybody else at the Fall Skyline Dr. Cruise.
Thanks again Jack,
Jack, I had a great time. Thanks for all of your efforts as the "Cruise Co-Ordinator Extraordinar". Next time please don't wear the skirt pants will be just fine.  It was great meeting everyone and I look forward to a good drive this fall for the Skyline. Thanks again Jack! :D :D
Leo
P.S. The Manatee's were huge this year! :jester
:seeya
As Always Jack & Joanne were great for opening their home to us. We had a great time enjoying each others company considering the recent tragic events. We preceded the parade today kinda (where at, I have no idea) which was pretty cool. Enjoyed some spirited driving and had a great lunch.
Well what can we say when Jack arranges for a cruise. It is always great weather and everyone has a great time! :D I didn't realize that Manatees actually traveled in schools but they sure were impressive!
Jack Donna wants to know if you will post that picture that you was showing everyone of Zora's 90 year old widow on the creeper autographing your license plate.

Re: Thanks Jack (DAVS Y2K)
Thanks but no, Thanks is from us to you!
Thanks Dave, Dave, Ron and Donna, Leo...for giving us a day to remember from a week we won't forget!
Yes the picnic was memorable, not just because we actually got the stuff cooked, but because sharing a meal with friends..exchanging thoughts of recent events and a little good natured humor goes a long way to restoring the human spirit.
Dave, it was the town of Whitestone that turned out by the hundreds to cheer us on! Well maybe they turned out for their parade, not us. But it did give a little good cheer
Donna! It's not often someone "gets me" But you did! ;)
The truth is I made her autograph the plate before I would back the car off her
Seriously, what a great lady she is, someone we could all take a lesson from
Again, we give thanks for our good friends sharing the day with us
Dave I would like to add in those shots turned out awesome!! Next time I will remember my camera and return a few shots.
Jack again thanks. My wife even commented on how more relaxed I looked and not overcome by the events of this week. I look forward to being cheered on by your many followers in Whitestone who will gladly accept your donations again! :D Just think for a small down payment you too can drive thru this small town while the citizens clap and cheer you on. :smash:
Ron and Donna it was nice to meet the forum members live and in person. I still think Jack was right in saying he ran her over for the signature and refused to back off until he got it. Not sure how he got the other one though? Jack some light on the subject?? :jester
Dave (DAVS Y2K) It was enjoyable meeting you. I still say there were some large manatee in the river. That one was moving pretty fast though.

Thanks, always better when an extra shutterbug is around.
I wish I could have got a picture of the rooster tail that thing was kicking up for Mike. :yesnod: :yesnod:
A few things I forgot to mention.
Leo, it was a pleasure to meet you. I have a new appreciation for GrandSports now.......nice car! :yesnod:
Dave, great pics. I just can't believe that you left your camera back at the picnic table when that school of manatees went by. :(
And Mike, as Jack said you were missed. But don't worry, you were talked about quite frequently. :D :D :D
Ron, you didn't have to stop for gas even one time. What's up with that? Did you add another fuel tank I don't know about? :jester :jester
P.S. Jack tried to get me to sit on another one of his "trick chairs."
Hey Fellas hopefully I'll be able to join you on the next cruise. All my vette needs is some TLC (Tools and Lots of Cash) anyway I'll be working on my car and hope to see everyone @ Skyline.

 Where you been?
We were gong to send out search dogs. but....( fill in the blank)
Here is a short History of what has been goin on these past few months.... Well I lost my job due to layoffs and was unemployed from june until ummm a week ago the Brakes on my vette are shot and It needs one of those annoying Inspection stickers and I figured since The only brake that works is the emergency brake I'd wait to have it inspected and my 2 rear tires are kinda well Bald but anyway I am now employed and have started my continued task of trying to keep up with all the z06's... so there is my story (the movie rights are up for sale :-)...) anyway I hope to have the vette up and running by the middle of october and inspected round that time too soo I should (Keeping my fingers crossed) see you @ Skyline... I'm getting real tired of driving my cherokee to work its just not as much fun as the ol' Vette anyway Hope to see all of you soon
