Default Florida registration

Being from CA I was schocked when I registered my Aug, 07 MR Z51 here in FL for a year for the grand total of $72. (with custom plate charge)... As I am driving back to California I was wondering how much the reg is going to cost... I'm sure it must be close to a grand ?

If you waited 6 mos you could have avoided the Fl 7% sales tax. Also I dont get the $72k unless you bought a Z06. I'm thinking a Z51 out the door with a 7% tag would have been $60k max especially with discounts out there. Max a Z51 should have been loaded $57k before tax and that is the max from all the dealers and prices have seen.

When I registered my '96 vert it was almost a grand to register but my '99 vert was something like under $400. Don't know what the '07 is going to cost yet.

I think he said he paid 72 dollars in FL. not 72K. He is trying to find out what the CA reg. will cost.

In 82 I tried to register a 81 Vette in Oxnard, Calf. They wanted $200 a year then. I then ordered a Forida tag instead by mail for $16. For County reference on tag it said DMV. That got me out of lots of tickets there.
Can't imagine what a Zo6 would cost now. Wasn't Arnold going to do some thing about the tag prices?
