Northern VA guy, need some guidance
Also, Is there a preferred dealership here? I want to find out info regarding my build sheet. There is no sticker in my glove box.
And lastly, best place for an alignment?
Hope to see some of you on Thursday.
Thanks,
Leroy

Dealer -- a lot of people will say Koon's Chevy
Best dealer service is with Joe Malo, Corvette Mechanic, at:
Koons Chevrolet
2000 Chain Bridge Road
Vienna, VA 22182
Bill Appel (service rep)
703-448-7206
If you join the NoVa Corvette Club, there are discounts to members for parts and service at Koons.
As far as alignment, a question...is your ride lowered or stock height? If stock then you can stay with Koons. If lowered, you won't be able to get on their rack. You would have see Jason, alignment specialist, at:
Jim McKay Chevrolet
3509 University Drive
Fairfax, VA 22030
Nick Capozio (service rep)
703-591-4800
They can accommodate lowered vettes and can 'dial in' whatever numbers you want for camber, caster, and toe-in. Can do track alignments, street alignments, whatever...
As for the build sheet...you can buy one for your car from the National Corvette Museum for a nominal fee.

Good luck!

I look into the NoVa Corvette Club, but as of right now, I am leaving at the end of this year.
Thanks for your help guys.
There is an automatic carwash / hand dry over in Springfield down from the mall, I think its off Commerce street. I took the C5 through there (before I found the true touchless wash at the gas station) once and it did NO damage. I waved off the hand dryers and just dealt with the fans, then I wiped it off myself.

Oh well. I'll try someplace else when I get a chance.

We have long and short term members, everyone with a vette is welcome to join.
Best of luck to you.
The car wash is behind the Dunkin Donuts off of Commerce St. I don't know exactly how to explain where Commerce is but its in the area of Dragon Sea Buffet, Dunkin Donuts and the Safford Dodge dealership.
I can't help you with any shop recommendations. People here scare me with the $$ they charge. Heck anytime my girl takes her Mustang or Jeep to the Jiffy lube without me she comes back with like a $50.00 oil change.

My parents used to own an auto parts store back home in Athens Ohio so I have some good connections there to get work done that I can't/ won't do myself. OIl changes I would typically do myself too, but don't know what I would do with the usde oil. Speaking of which, is there a good place to go for oil changes? I'm not sure what's in the engine now, but I planned to use Mobil 1. I am still around 50-60% on DIC.

when needed, but I let the DIC run down to 10-15% life. I'm hoping to have a scissor lift by the summer so I can do it in my own garage.
