Entered my first car show at "VETTES IN PARADISE" and won first place in the class I entered.I was wondering if I was in the right class. Is there a standard that is used for what is and is not a mod? I have a 99frc, are stock wheels that are chromed, seat covers.drilled rotors, ram air boxes, painted calipers,zo6 vavle covers, exhaust tips considered mods? Have gotten various answers on these questions even from show staff.
Thanks Ed
It depends on the show, Ed. Some have more strict interpretations than others. even in NCCC sanctioned shows. Ultimately, responsibility rests upon the shoulders of the event organizers. I haven't read my NCCC rulebook in a looooong time. I don't recall how specificly it addresses the issue.

Sometimes you want to be in the mod class because no other cars are in the class or maybe a lot of other cars are in the class. Chrome on engine items is tough to compete with if you are stock.
Each show I have done has been different. It also varies if they check the odometer to see if your car is a garage-queen trying to compete with daily drivers. Of course you have to decide if you want to show your engine or just interior and exterior.
The best advice I can give is clean/detail your car up like crazy, enjoy the show, enjoy the people, and take home an extra clean car even if you do not win first place.
When I have judged I picked the winners from a distance then judged the car to see if the "score sheet" agreed with my original pick.
