Scuba Divers!
I have a friend who runs dive trips for single people. Either single people, or people who's SOs don't dive. She has a trip to dive the wrecks of the NC coast coming up in two weeks and there are still several slots available.
The diving is out of Morehead City, NC and it is the weekend of their annual Seafood Festival -- Oct 5-7. http://www.ncseafoodfestival.org/
We will be diving wrecks like the Papoose, U-352, and the Schurz. We should see sand tiger sharks, lionfish, eels, and huge clouds of baitfish. There was even a whaleshark spotted a couple weeks ago!
The dive operator is Olympus Dive Center and we've got their 48' boat Midnight Express all to ourselves. http://www.olympusdiving.com/
The trip includes 3 days of 2-tank diving, breakfast and lunch on the boat each day, a BBQ Saturday night, and lodging in either the dive lodge (bunkhouse) or hotel rooms.
Water temp should be 80-85 deg with 75-150ft viz.

sounds like another fantastic dive trip.
I will have to check my schedule. I think my 20th high school reunion is that weekend.

Wow, that looks like a fun weekend! Water temp of 80-85 in October? Not bad, I would have expected lower of the NC coast.
Unfortunately I haven't been diving in about 2 years and my gear hasn't been checked out in at least that long.
Have you been diving with the Olympus people before? Do you all dive off the NC coast often?
