Im looking for a GOOD machine shop. I have 2 350 engine blocks that need some loving. Havent been in Virginia very long so I dont know whos good or bad. Thanks for the help
Ed will direct you to Performance Unlimited machining. ON the 3 times I've been there, I've had nothing but problems. First time on a DSM head they dropped the head and broke one of the cam caps in half. They had the audacity to JB weld it back together and try and give it to me. Then the stripped the oil feed line for the turbo. Next time wasn't really me, but they built an LS2 for a friend and didn't install the cam bearings correctly (installed them half way out of the running paths) causing the motor to completely drop oil pressure. Every single time they blamed 'a new apprentice'
I've had nothing but success with Dunkums off the corner of Mercury and Jefferson. Great prices, clean work environment, and very professional.

Please dont put words in my mouth. Not to be an ***, but if I was gonna recommend a shop, I already would have.
PS, there seems to be a deficiency of quality automotive machinists in this area. Trust me, been around here for minute.
To the OP, if you want my opinion, call me. 757-424-1740

I'm looking to rebuild my engine this fall and Gene Ferguson (has been building dragsters for over 50 years) takes all of the motors he works on to Kernodle Automotive, 857-5783 in Norfolk. Says they are the best machine shop around and the only ones he trusts to work on his engines. My friend had his engine from his 71 vette done with them and it runs really great.
Gene will be helping me with my rebuild. I'll probably start a thread on the rebuild when it happens.
