Default New guy from VA...

Hi... I'm Shawn. I got out of the Army in November '07 and moved to Chesterfield County in June. I'm new to the Corvette scene, but not new to the car scene (also owned a '98 Trans Am and a '95 Z28).

But you guys don't want to hear about me right? You want to know about the car...

2002 Z06: Forged LS6, D1SC procharger, LS2 throttle body, FAST 90mm intake, custom cam, custom tune, melrose headers, random tech cats and exhaust... The car dynoed 695 hp and 583 ft/lbs torque...

Anyway, is there a local hang out or anything? Friday nights I usually go to a small car show here in Chester on Iron Bridge Rd...

you need to go to the Hardees at Rt 10 and 95 on Saturday nights. Usually a pretty good crowd there. There's a DJ, and lots of variety of cars. This time of year it might be winding down some, but when I've been there over the summer it's pretty crowded. I'm from the other side of town so I don't make it down there but about twice a summer, but when I've been it's been pretty good and worth the drive from Mechanicsville. On Friday nights, are you talking about Iron Bridge Sports Park? I've heard a couple people talking about it, but haven't made it there yet.

Thanks for the welcome!

Actually, last weekend I was at that Hardees. The DJ doesn't seem to come around anymore (I've only heard of him), and the crowd was pretty small.

And you're right, the other one is the Iron Bridge Sports Park. I live 2 minutes from there and couldn't remember the name. I was looking forward to going tonight, but I don't think anyone is coming out in this weather.

The car gathering at Hardees ends the end of September. It is hosted by http://www.southernknightscruisers.com/ It will start up in April I believe. There is another gathering in Hopewell at the Crossing Plaza during the summer. It is hosted by http://www.obgcc.com/ .
Welcome to central VA.

Thanks for the info!

I drove through Hardees tonight, there were 2 cars there. A black C5 and an older car... I guess I'll have to wait 'til next summer.

If you feel like a little ride, Brunetti's is in Mechanicsville, and has a Saturday night cruise in as well . It's off of 295 at route 301 north, about a mile up on the right, turn right at the Atlee road stoplight, you can't miss it. I go there a lot because it's close to my house. They also have a DJ, and he was still there weekend before last when I went there, and I remember that he was there through Haloween last year. There was probably 25-35 cars there the last time I went, obviously there are a lot more there in the summer.
