I know it's early :o but who's going to Carlisle this year?

When you leaving?

Is there a Caravan?

Am I too early for this?

I was considering this. However, I am in Charlotte. I believe a number of people are going to the Caravan at the NCM, which is the weekend after Carlisle. I will probably make my decision in the next couple of weeks.

Not sure if my trip will take me through Elizabethton, TN. But I will post back here if my decision is to go.

I'm sure several from the southeast section won't be coming thru my neck of the woods but eventually everyone would wind up on I-81.

I attended last year and had a blast!

Didn't know the NCM was the weekend after though

Hopefully they'll be a few heading up!.... well at least more than me

Thanks for replying i was starting to feel i was talking to myself........

Just registered for the Corvettes of Carlisle. Was able to find a room in Mechanisburg, PA. According to some local Corvette owners it is just a 10 minute drive to the event. I will be heading up on 8/27 early in them morning for an early afternoon arrival.

Hopefully, we can get some other local owners together.

We are heading up on Friday morning but coming from eastern Virginia I won't be using I-81. See you all there.

Heading up from ATL on Weds am...it is a 700+ mile trip so I stop in Roanoke and then leave there early Thurs am to hook up with old friends from BOS. They have a vendor spot near the grandstand. Head back Sunday am. I go up on I-85 then I-77 then I-81. The fairgrounds is only a few miles off I-81 but the traffic on Fri & Sat am is awful unless you get to fairgrounds early.

My wife is in Carlisle this weekend! (For her Dickinson College reunion). I was going pretty regularly for the past 10 years but probably won't make it this year from NC, unless I stop by without vette on the way to taking my son back to school in Boston.

[ Mechanicsburg isn't a bad drive to the fairgrounds, but there is no such thing as a 10 minute drive unless you head over at 6am. Traffic gets really bad and backups to enter can be legendary. I always thought they should create a special express line for older overheating-prone bigblocks!]

We usually leave on Thursday AM heading up and get there around 5 or 6, we take our time riding up and just try to enjoy the ride but I-81 has always been a little at times.

Last year during the ride up and back I never seen a Vette headed in the same direction as us

Good to see that there are some "locals from the south" going up. I know it will be hard to meet up on the way. I try to do a casual drive up also; no aggressive driving, speeding or such, just some top down driving and enjoying the scenary. Haven't planned the route yet, but know that I will probably leave around 6am and arrive in Mechanicsburg around 2-2:30pm. I am staying at the Wingate right off the interstate.

If you see a Victory Red C6 convertible (stock appearance) with "Whoosah" on the plate that is me. Honk and I will wave! Maybe also our paths will cross up there, you never know.

We're both about the same distance from Mechanicsburg, looks to be roughly 7.5 hrs or so.

The wife and I haven't decided what time we're leaving, i believe last year we got out of town around 9 or so, I do like the thought of getting there around 2:30 or so, check in is usually 3 maybe 4 some places.

Yellow Vertible C5, should our paths cross....

I'm leaving from Alex VA early Friday morning (around 6)

I go up 270 to 15 then 94/34 as it's a very nice drive

if anyone wants to join up we usually meet up at springfield mall in the parking lot of the old defunct circuit city.

I'm the president of the c4 ZR-1 Net Registry

stop by the tent and say hello!

PM me if you want to ride up and we'll make plans.

lots of folks leaving thursday too.
