We are in again this year.

We always have a great time.
This event is well organized by a great group of hard working folks.

Any updated information on the Dothan hotel?
I've not seen anything on the website yet.

Interested in joining in on the fun but not seeing much information on the site provided by the OP.

Looks like the drive to Dothan for me is @245miles and then from Dothan to PC is @90miles.

What are the plans for the 3 days during the event? Are there other stops? Places to visit? Mileage for caravan?

Please fill me in on as much information as you can. Thanks.

Got the info I need and I'm excited. The hotel resort seems to be a nice getaway from Atlanta for the wkd too.

In the past there has been a caravan out of the ATL area headed to Dothan, AL on Thursday.
Check with the Peachstate Posse.

Some (most) of the folks are Classic Glass members.

I started a thread here but it may split off for a caravan from ATL.

I will be bringing this to the attention of our club on Tuesday so we may also have a caravan down to Dothan.

There is the get together on Thursday night at the host hotel in Dothan. The hotel is supposed to be a different hotel this year after many years at the previous location. The new hotel WILL be much nicer from what I understand.

The caravan leaves Friday morning for Panama City Beach. It is really a sight to see 100+ Corvettes headed south. It is an easy drive and the caravan itself is "relaxed" - that is there is not a lot of frantic stopping and starting.

Last year the caravan ended at Pier Park.

This is time for lunch and to stretch your legs until the rooms over at the Bay Point Marriott are ready.
http://marriottbaypoint.com/

The past couple of years there has been an organized dinner cruise on the Lady Anderson on Friday night.
http://www.captanderson.com/
The wife and I have not been but I have heard great reports about it. We usually find a nice restaurant in the area and have frequented Captain Anderson.

Friday night there may be a gathering around the pool for conversation and adult beverages. There has been some music provided by a DJ who sings karaoke at times. He has a really good voice so don't be scared.

Saturday there are usually seminars to attend, a car show and possibly a golf game. We usually head over to San Destin to go shopping at the outlet mall and eat a "Whataburger" whenever I can talk her into it. http://www.whataburger.com/

Saturday night is the silent auction and dinner at the hotel. There are some awesome and unique items that are auctioned off. The money goes to the National Corvette Museum.

There may be different things planned this year that I am not aware of. You can do as much or as little as you want to do.

The wife and I always have a great time and treat this as a mini vacation.

Here are a few pictures from last years event.

This is what John sent me today.

We do not have a block of rooms in Dothan yet due to the difference in price ranges of the motels and their is another large group in Dothan that same night that the motels are hesitant in blocking more than 15 - 25 rooms and we need 100.
Their is also a pretty good distance from were we meet on Thursday to were we leave from on Friday morning. The bottom 3 motels are next to dealership where everything is Thursday, but their rates are $79 and up, The
other motels are closer to where the caravan leaves from Friday morning, and their are several more motels in Dothan, it is just a matter of what you want to pay and what amenities you want.

Country Hearth $44.99 334-699-3950
Econo Lodge $53.99 334-673-8000
Best Western $79.95 334-793-4376
Residency Inn 334) 793-1030
Courtyard Marriot 334-671-3000
Hampton Inn 334-671-7672
Sleep Inn 334-671-2086

What's everyones thoughts on a hotel next to the dealership (Thurs activities) or closer to the Friday departure location?

Great write-up Stickman.

The pics only confirm this is a must do event. I hope I can get a room with a view like the one you posted above. Nice to see there is a Police escort as well. Is that just while in AL or through FL?

Thank you.

The escort was basically to the Florida state line. They stop traffic completely at a couple of lights south of Dothan.

Did John say where the departure point is?

Thanks.
