I've been going since the first one. A few things that I have learned over the years:

Old comfortable shoes. Lots of walking, and you stand a good chance of them being covered with GA. red clay or mud.

Carry some aspirin or Goody powders. I had a bad headache one year and couldn't find anything at the vendors. So I started carrying a couple of Goody powders on me.

Sunscreen. You will be outside for many hours. The sun can still be strong enough this time of year for a burn.

Water canteen or portable bottle. I found a nice water bottle at Target with a shoulder strap. You may find yourself in the paddock, back stretch, walking, etc...and far from the vendor village. Don't expect to find a lot of concession stands outside the village.

Traffic in/out flows pretty well. You can come and go as you please. Just be sure to get a pass to come back in.

I hope it is too late to jinx it, but weather is looking VERY nice for race weekend! Good thing it is raining now to get that out of the way.

Thanks for the tips Grey Ghost! I'll be sure to bring lots of water and some Aleve for any headaches I may get. I wonder if there are any people that go back and forth from Road Atlanta to Chateau Elan, you know, to get an extra bottle or to pay a visit to their pub

Default Corvette Corral? Too late?

My son and I are heading up to Road Atlanta to attend the Petite Le Mans. Unfortunately, we were unable to do any advanced planning this year due work schedules. I am wondering if it is too late to gain entry into the Corvette Corral. Too late to buy advance tickets as of Sept 24th. Anyone know about the Corral?

Advanced tickets did end Sept. 24th. Just means that you have to pay an extra $10. The corral does have a limited number of tickets though. Call them first thing Monday a.m. They will place them in 'will call' for you (saves the shipping charge, so you will recover the $10).

Thanks Ghost,

Gave them a call this morning. They took care of me. So I am in. I get reduced parking and some drinks and a box lunch. Cool!

very cool!

Watch the temps as well. Going to be nice weather, but will be pretty cool in the morning and as the sun sets.
Lows in the lower 50's and highs in mid to upper 70's. Can not wait! This will be my wife's first time going, so I hope she wont be too bored.

Free drinks (water,Pepsi), lunch, inside parking, porta potties with outside sinks to wash up, etc...the CC repays you well. Sold my car last year.
So no CC for me Enjoy though !

I am a bit confused. So is the Corvette Corral an infield location where you park your Corvette or is it just a place to hang out and mingle with the Covette peeps?

Yes, it is an area marked off for corvette's that have a corral parking pass.
Just to give you an idea...

We're excited! I'm wondering though, since we get to eat and drink at the Corvette Corral, did we waste our money buying the Chalet tickets, since we get to eat there also? I suppose we can just go back and forth and eat and drink at both locations.

The Chalet will have a better class of food and drink than the corral. The Corral has large coolers (similar to the ones in a convenience store) help yourself to water or Pepsi. We had sandwiches and chips at lunch. Pratt/Miller usually brings dozens of doughnuts Sat. am. It was hot, so I downed a lot of water.
(Remember to stay hydrated) it is a long day of outdoor activities. Get there early to be eligible for the Corral prizes, which vary.

Gentlemen,

For you Petit Lemans vets I give you my thanks. Thursday I will start the Flying to Atlanta. The wife has the Z packed and ready to go and will leave Arkansas Thursday afternoon. I even bought a cheap scanner to try out there. Plenty of batteries video camera and Digital. Sunscreen, painkillers, chairs. Even a flag for the Golf Cart we rented (lazy) Someone wrote that there were so many golf carts at Road Atlanta it was easy to get them mixed up so some form of ID was a good idea. I hope to see you there. Atlanta used to be one of haunts a long time back. Bought my first home in Kennesaw. I will be the one in the red ZO6 with the bent up plate.....LYFSGR8. I don't have the heart to replace it as it has been through so much.

Again Thanks

Does anyone have a Corvette Corral Parking Pass that you will not be able to utilize? I just won tickets for Wed - Sat, but unfortunately there are no more parking passes available from the Road Atlanta ticket office.

Couple of hours from me. But I'm pumped too. Love the '56 or '57 in your avatar. I've owned two midyears, but always wanted a '56 or '57.

Another question---our tickets have stickers that say "Corvette" on them and my parking pass has the same Corvette sticker on it. Will I need both of these to get into the Corvette Corral? I am so excited I cannot stand it! I cannot wait!
