Corvette Expo

Is it true???????

OCTOBER 14-15 at The Sevierville Events Center in Sevierville, Tennessee.
Unfortunately it's still in Sevierville and will again be mixed in with trucks, supercars and Hot Rods. The Camaro is the featured car this year!

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Friday and Saturday.
There will bean auction Saturday morning, park and show for Vettes and on grounds parking for Vettes.
I may be speaking out of turn here, but the entusiasum for corvettes while remaining high, is not enough to support this event without including some other types of vehicles. The main focus is still on Corvettes, but other 'muscle cars' make up the show floor. Many of the Vette owners do not wish to park their car on the show floor for the entire week end and miss the Friday night cruise in and a few other things.
Once cars are parked in the show, they are stuck there for the entire show period.
EXPO is a business, it needs to make money to continue.
The promoters signed a contract for the current facility several years ago and until that contract runs out in a couple of years I doubt it will move.
I am not financially affiliated with the show, however I do plan and lead the Friday night cruise.

It's been down hill since the show has tried to be a car show instead of a swap meet..
Just my .02

Once upon a time there were only one or two ways for venders to sells parts. With the advent of the Internet, many venders sell their wares online. There are still a few buyers that prefer to feel what they are buying, and events like EXPO give them that opportunity. However with the cost of fuel and the ease of selling via the Internet venders attending regional shows has been on the decline.
Early on the bigger venders that sell Corvette related items tyoically attended these shows.
Ecklers, Corvette central, some dealers, and apparel venders would load up a rig and travel hundreds of miles to attend. Now it's easier to do it all online. Most of the venders attending these shows consist of local shops and several recycling businesses.
If you're looking for a replacement part from a previously roadworthy Vette, or a rare part from a 60's era sting ray, then you might enjoy EXPO. If you want to see hundreds of Vettes parked and driven together, or a see several showy cars, and maybe even meet some one also interested in Vettes, then you might want to attend.
EXPO is Carlile. It never will be.
Bloomington isn't Carlile, it never will be.

This could get interesting Andy.....
I guess I'll drive up on the 14th and be nosey.
