Has anybody done the Auto Train with a C5 or C6? If so what was your experience.

Yes. Did it with my C5 in 2002. The train departs Sanford around 4p runs non-stop to Lorton, Va arriving around 8a.

You are expected to arrive at the departure/staging area between Noon and 3p. My car at that time was not lowered and had no issues being taken up the ramp and loaded onto the train-car. Not a scratch.

This was a radio-promotion for me and I paid nothing, so I was in a cabin, which can elevate the price, whereas its much cheaper sitting in coach, but you're then sitting with general population and sitting upright trying to sleep. Amtrak's rail parallels I-95 some and I found the entire experience pretty cool, that I did it again with the family in 2005, but in the family truckster at the time(Ford Lightning).

Its not for everyone and the price is subjective to ones 'fun-meter', but I was able to cross it off my bucket list..."ride a train".
