Hi all. Got some bad news to share with you. My search for a 'Vette is over, and not in a good way. :(
After looking around for a while, I haven't been able to find the right Vette at the right price and mileage in the right location. More importantly, I wasn't able to convince the wife that a mid-90's Vette was a reasonable replacement for our '99 Cougar. :cry
So, we have instead decided to place a last-minute order for a 2002 Mustang V6 convertible. At just under $22k after rebates, I'm sure you can see why it was so tough to convince my wife that we should pay $18-$20k for a 7+ year old car. I'm bummed, but at the same time I'm happy to be getting a convertible with exactly the colors and options we wanted. Of course we have to go to Florida to pick up the car (long story) but that will give us a nice long drive back home to enjoy the car. :)
I'll still be around on the boards and would love to come to a NOVA Corvette gathering, but please don't hate me because I drive a Ford! I know some day I will have a Vette... I'm only 29 so there's still time. (Maybe in 3-4 years I can pick up a nice 2003 pace car edition.)
Re: -=-=-= NOVA - NEXT EVENT =-=-=- (indypacecars.com)
There must be some sort of confusion here as it doesnt matter what you drive, it matters if you have fun or not. I am new to the board and have gotten the understanding that all are welcome, provided you have fun.

If you join the Wash DC mustang club you can do events with the Northern Virginia Corvete Club. We invite them to our autocross events and they invite us to there drag race events. so you won't be that far away from vettes.. Matter of fact both clubs are going drag racing saturday. :D

SWEEEEET!!! I will definately check that out. I was really looking forward to meeting all the local vette owners last Tuesday but couldn't make it. And once again I'll be out of town Saturday. Oh well.
Both are sweet cars, IMO.
Thought about it, but the V6 Camaro is $3-$4k more than the 'stang. We're already pushing our budget as it is. Mustang's still my second-fave after the Vette.
I rarely come to this section so pardon me but what is going on at Dulles Town Center at 7 PM on Friday and near what store ? I usually roll up 28 on the way home just to stretch my C5's legs :smash: around that time.
