I'm moving to Roanoke Va. shortly and was wondering how though the Police are there as far as having a front license plate on my Beautiful Corvette? Can I run without the plate, plate in the front window? I am not going to drill holes into the front of my car. Any info would be Great.
It's a ways east of where you're headed, but I rode in Fredericksburg for a while without one on my Raptor. I was waiting on some mods for the front end. Lived about a month without one and was never cited.
That said, all it takes is one guy (or gal) to decide they want to enforce the law...

I have owned two C6s with about 30,000 miles on them and never put a front plate on. I was pulled over once for not having the front plate and paid the fine of $90. Well worth it.
If you get caught, you can install the front plate, take a picture of it and bring it to court with you and the judge will probably clear the fine, but you will still pay the court costs. I also believe there is a gentlemen's agreement not to pull over nice cars for not having a front plate, but it only takes one...
I live in Bedford, about 25 miles east of Roanoke. Don't spend too much time in the city but have run without the front plate for 10 years and 60k miles and no ticket. I run the plate under the cover and figure if I ever get stopped I can remove the cover on the spot and maybe avoid the ticket. I have seen someone say they use velco to attach the cover but I just use the stock screws.
I got a ticket once for having the plate wired in the front grill of my '70 Trans-am, Rookie cop wanted to make a name for himself, didn't go to court, just paid the fine and went on with life.

You will get a ticket eventually, they are cracking down in the no front plate again.

BTW, there is a very nice Corvette Club in Roanoke, it is called Star City Corvette Club. Our club (Virginia Corvette Club) in Lynchburg does a lot of things with Star City.

That sounds Great, I'm moving up this Saturday and have to report to work on Monday.
OK I'm here, ran into a guy with a yellow 03 I think he said at the Best Buy today. I saw a billboard saying there was going to be a car show the end of this month here i n Roanoke.

After I got a no front plate ticket I attached it to the bottom corner of the windshield with suction cups
Got the ok from an officer in Chesapeake (not sure if he was state or a city).
As long as it doesnt obstruct your view, its legal. Keeping it at the very bottom of the passenger side corner is low enough on the windshield where you wouldnt be looking in that direction anyway.
