Need help in NC!
I have an 01 z06 and my column lock started acting up last night! Battery is good and I have a trip down to Florida that I need this car for this Thursday so I don't have time to order the part from compliance parts as they have no option for overnight shipping. Anyone in the Nc area, specifically greensboro, have an lmc5 they would let me buy off them? Pm or message here if so. Thanks very much guys.

It's unlocked now, but for fear of it happening when 12 hours from home and not being able to get the column unlocked I would like to go ahead and purchase the part

I had the column lock problem on my '98 coupe. If I remember correctly there were two recalls to fix it, both of which I had done. Both recalls worked for a while, but then the column locked again and I had it towed to a dealer in Reidsville. At this point the car was out of warranty, so I paid the $600 bill which included a flat bed fee. About 6 months after I had it fixed I received a letter from GM telling me that any column lock problem would be covered even though the car was out of warranty. I sent them all my receipts and GM paid everything. So you might want to check with a dealer before spending any money to fix it yourself.
