I got married a couple of weeks ago (Saturday, October 5) and on Sunday, my new wife and I were driving to Eureka Springs, AR for our honeymoon. We were driving her 2002 Impala (more roomier than my 85 vette and more comfortable in case we decided to make a "pit stop." ;)) I was driving through Oklahoma on Hwy 75 and I passed somewhere between 50-75 vettes in different groups of 5-10 cars. I kept telling her that I knew there had to be some kind of convention and didn't know where it was. When we got to Eureka Springs, we got settled in and on Monday morning we went downtown to look around. When I get there, low and behold, what do i see? A giant sign that says "12th annual national corvette convention, oct 4, 5, & 6." This was on the 7th. I was distraught that we missed it. It almost, I repeat ALMOST, ruined the honeymoon. I told my wife that if they have it at the same time every year that we will come back for an anniversary in the vette one year. Does anyone know what the dates are next year?
It's always the first FULL weekend in October. It starts on Thursday afternoon and we have caravans heading home on Sunday morning. It is a huge event and the most fun Corvette event in the country. There are a lot of different things to do. There is a car show, fuel economy run, moonlight cruise, autocross, poker run, two different caravans to join going home.
If you'll send me your mailing address, I'll see that you get a flyer for 2003 when they come out.
