Default Cascades for Cars and Coffee

GB,

Thanks for posting up the event brochure. I had no idea that there was anything going on in the Cascades. We all usually head over to Katie's in Great Falls for C and C on Saturday (early) mornings. Cascades sounds like a great follow on event. I have passed on this information via your brochure to a bunch of my NoVa C2 and C1 friends. Have attached a couple of pics of us at Katie's this past summer.

Cheers. C.J.

The problem that I have with Katie's is that you have to get there before 6:45 in order to find a space to park in and that means that I have to leave my house no later than 6:00 to drive from Dulles to Great Falls. That is why I only make to Katie's about once a year. Here are some other recurring events in the local area.

Day / Time Event Venue Location
Friday ( 5 - 7 pm) Cruise-In -- Chic-Fil-A -- Dulles Town Plaza Sterling, VA
Saturday (6-9 pm) Cruise-In -- Burger King -- Manassas, VA
Sunday (7 - 10 am) Cars & Coffee -- Dunkin' Donuts --Dulles Landing South Riding, VA
Sunday (9 - 11 am) Cars & Coffee -- Dog Money Restaurant -- Leesburg, VA

Thanks GB.

I understand totally as I have to leave my house by 5:30 to get a decent parking space at Katie's. It is truly insane and not at all for anyone who is not a "morning" person. For some strange reason my neighbors do not seem to appreciate the sound of my side exhaust at that time of the am. Thank you for the list of the other venue's. The only one on your list I was not aware of is the one at Dog Money Restaurant. I will pass it on.

Hopefully we will cross paths one of these days at one of the venues. All the Best. C.J.

As an FYI, Burger King is done. Stick a fork in it... Last year, I went their trice, thinking the first time it was empty, perhaps there was some holiday I forgot about...Anyways, still empty, next time I went.

Thanks 89.

Good to know. I have avoided BK for the last few years because of the parking situation. Unless you time it exactly right you have to park over the river and through the woods; seemingly not even at the same venue. It was always overcrowded when I went. Just bad timing on my part I guess. Sounds like it is has run its course. It's a bit more of a run from my house than many of the others so not too big a loss in my mind. C.J.

We were hoping to join up with you guys this year for some varied events and of course some bar-b-que but it looks like we'll have to wait a while longer until this Wu Han Red Death blows over. Thanks for asking though.

Doing well. Being retired and mostly a stay at home body there is not really a lot different from normal times. To be sure the small amount of shopping we do is an ethereal adventure. Masks and goggles with proper distancing; its like ships passing in the night. No speaking and everyone looking away from each other; listening carefully for a cough or a sneeze. Now over 60 we try to take advantage of old folks shopping hours early in the mornings.

Passing time in the garage cleaning and then painting the underside of the car. Mostly the frame itself where I can get to it with acrylic lacquer thinner and then the correct color and type of frame paint.

How is everybody else doing?

I have a feeling the regular C&C's will start to see some activity again starting now. There's discussion about going to the South Riding/Dunkin Donuts C&C tomorrow AM. Wouldn't be surprised if there were some cars there.

I have not heard anything definite on either Katie's or the Dulles Landing C&C. This morning would have been ideal to have gone to Katie's. I even received texts from many of my friends asking if I knew it was a go . . . . and of course I didn't know anything. Katie's Facebook page doesn't say anything about an official opening and the last post was of their signboard on 21 March saying closed till further notice. This sucks.
