Moving to Richmond

Route 5 is my recommendation...lots of great twisties between Richmonf and the Harrison Bridge and then lot's of great straights (triple digit territory) from there to Williamsburg,
For those of you concerned that the Ratack might drive a little fast, triple digits means Mph and 10ths of Mph, like 55.6 MPH :D
Looks like triple digits to me! :D :bs

Wasn't it Charles City where you stuck me with your favorite sheriff? I remember it like a bad dream.
Screaming into town at triple digits to slow down in time to have Roscoe P. Coltrain pull in behind me close enough so a basketball wouldn't pass through the bumpers while the rest of you hauled tail like a cat with kerosene on it ****!!!

The rest of us were just tooling along at our usual 55 MPH
What were you doing to attract the attention of the local authorities?

Gees! I have been running up to 55 on that guage for years! :D

The Best of Corvette for Corvette Enthusiasts

Well the job search is taking some interesting twists lately. I might have something out in Indiana lined up as well as Blacksburg VA. Still waiting on the word for a follow up interview with both places. Indiana sounds good becuase the pay is better and the shift is the one I want. Oh well just so long as I get something soon. Tired of doing honey does around here.

I just noticed that the tread on the Goodyears is getting a little thin (22K miles) and was thinking about Pilot Sports M/S runflats. Is there a dealer in Richmond that carries them (or orders them) and can mount them? Do most people still order them from TireRack?
Thanks. Glad to be in Richmond. Looking forward to warmer weather.

We've always owned GM, so have had experience with a few dealerships around. If you want to go to a dealer, I don't know what side of town you're on, but the Chevy dealerships around are:
-Patrick Chevrolet on the East End (Nine Mile Road) - A little slow, but always been treated fairly and work done well. The owner always drives a Corvette and they seem to be the most "Corvette Friendly" dealership.
-Dominion Chevrolet in the West End (Short Pump area on Broad St) - Hope you get a decent mechanic and you'll be in good shape.
-Whitlow Chevrolet over in the South Side (on Midlothian Tnpk by the Arboretum) - Never had any problems, but haven't been as much as others.
Here's a list of local places
After warranty, I usually go to a little hole in the wall store locally that does good work when it's something I don't have the equipment for.

Thanks for the info. I'm in the Midlothian area, so I'll give Whitlow a call. There is also a Goodyear dealer in the area. I wonder if he would mount a set of Pilots delivered from TireRack. One way to find out...
Thanks again.
Ron

I will need tires soon, so I have started to look. I came across this review you might be interested in:

I don't live in Richmond any more, but the rest of my family lives throughout the Midlothian area. If you need any info other that what you already have (car related or not) just ask.
