Well, my first ever dragway outing is complete and realized all that power is nothing without traction unless you're already running at 70-80mph as I'm use to. Best of the day was a 11.92 with trap of 126mph spinning a good bit too with all 60ft times over 2 sec and sleeping at the light.
Thanks to Bob Moss for all the little things like tire pressure and helping me with the hosiery if you will of the ATI--which needs a total redesign to run hard consecutively.
Thanks to strick with the cooler and Rick and Randy for the grub and to all the RCG that made it down.
Thanks to Dave for letting me borrow his helmet to run, good thing you have a big head like me :D
And thanks to that light blue C3 in the staging lane that let me borrow his dial in ink
It was truly a Corvette day at Carolina Dragway! The only problem with the day was I got a serious case of " I WANTS" The best part of the day was meeting the guys on the forum.
I'll post some pics later after I download.
Don't just thank me for the grub, Rick and Randy were big contributors, too. It all worked out just perfectly, except for running out of propane
Jed, I hear they'll let you buy back in one more time :lolg:
What a GREAT time.. I really want to thank EVERYONE who helped to make this a great day. The food / drink was great as was all the company. Learned alot from Violator and enjoyed some cooool racin as well. Thanks again to everyone who pitched in. Im glad my helmet atleast had a chance to go fast...!!!! I will to one of these days.! :D
I just got back...what a great time :smash: Unfortunately I don't have any Pics either I was kinda busy trying to get my car right. Bob Moss "Violator" did an awesome job with the re-tune. I was way down on power, but after his 7th yes 7th reprogram the car starting performing much better. It still take sabout 100 miles of driving with a new program to get the CPU to learn it so by the time I got back home I would say I was at least up to 460rwhp. Still not where it needs to be but MUCH better then it was.
Jed did awesome at the track  To get ANY rear wheel drive car in the 11's with 100% street tires is a huge accomplishment. My best run of the day was after retune #3 where I got a 12.58 @ 119 mph on all motor. Not great but every run got a little better.
Yeah, and you need a radar jammer cruising home over 80mph!!! With cops everywhere, Me and Kirby just knew we would be seeing you on the side of the road.
My car is now clean but God Almighty rubber is a beatch to get off! This was a real blast. ET streets are the way to go.
Most of my pictures were on the tape. We'll have a nice movie before the next meeting. Do you think we can get the Midtown Sundries to let us use a TV?
On the menu was Brats, sausage, hamburgers, and hot dogs. The only problem was after the first two or three rounds of cooking, I ran out of propane. I fixed that today, a little late, and bought an adapter so I can use a bigger tank. Those little tanks don't hold enough. But I don't think anybody went away hungry, except Rick. :lolg:
I have to tell you this, I met Dark Knight and his wife there. I've been trying to find a vette with a Billy Boat Exhaust System. Well Larry's beautiful red Vette had it. I asked all the questions about resonance and how he liked it. Well, Larry throws the keys at me and said to take it down the road and check it out. In this day of not really trusting people, especially ones you just met, I was blown away. This Corvette Community is changing my attitude towards people. It's the way it should be. Another thing that plesantly surprised me was the group purchase I ran. Out of 48 guys that sent checks, not one bounced. Besides the comradery which is just great, the Corvette fellowship has character. (except for Rick  he's so easy to pick on). So, thanks guys. :flag :flag :flag And my next exhaust will be the Billy Boats.

SMC is sure darn proud of Violater and Dark Knight! Hate I missed OYEA's 12.1 performance, but looking forward to the Birthday Bash at Beech Bend...
That's OK Tommy..I love just like a father...only mine is a few years younger :p: :p:
Seriously though, I had a great time...honestly could not have asked for a better group of people to hang out with at a great event on a beautiful day :yesnod:

The SMC was well represented with some great members (I thank you for keeping me entertained for three days) and your car "O yea" ran like a beast :yesnod:
