Chris, sorry to hear you are not satisfied. I know my wife and my schedules don't allow us to take off on alot of these 3 and 4 day weekend type of meets. I'd rather meet up once a month for the friendship thing and run'em about every month or so and use my vacation days sitting on a white sandy beach with an open bar just behind me. Just don't discount us because we all can't make these shows. I am the world's worst because I don't like to drive in the rain. Besides me being a clean freak, all that hp cannot be driven in the rain and when I take her out, I like to drive it.

Not to rant these meets have to be fun. I had a blast at the autofair, but them being so close to home makes them more enjoyable to me.
I'm not picking on you Jed. If you're satisfied with this club the way it is that's fine. I'm not discounting you because you can't attend all the different shows either. Maybe I'm the one that needs to move on & find a club that's more in tune with my interests.

EDITED: My response to Chris was inappropriate and I want to publically apologize to him for my response! The Race City Gang is part of my life! I took Chris' comments personal and I got angry. But Chris and Martha have every right to want, out of their chosen Corvette Club, what is right for them! I am sorry that the RCG doesn't fit their needs! Please know that you are always welcome to join us if you are looking for something to do!!

To all RCG members: If there is something about our group that does not settle well with you then I encourage you to contact me so we can discuss! You should have my home phone number, and you are welcome to call me!! If you do not have my home number then please IM me and I will provide it to you!

Oh yea Deb, THANKS for the pics!! And I also had a GREAT time at Vinnie's! Thanks for the suggestion Jed!!!!

As I have said before, if you have an activity that you want to do, then volunteer and make it happen. Sorry that we don't have an events coordinator to cater to your particular needs. I am sure that you can find a "Full Service" Corvette club in the Charlotte area that can provide you with everything that your heart desires!!! I wish you much luck in your search!!
Volunteering an activity to a group of people who don't want to participate is a waste of my time & theirs. We have met some good people with your group & will always consider them our friends. Good Luck with your club!

Chris,
By all means...do what is right for you! The one unique thing about the Race City Gang is that if you want to get involved then join in. No Cost...No Obligations!! If you don't want to participate, we won't kick you out of the group. As I have said before, if you have an activity that you want to do, then volunteer and make it happen. I can honestly say that I haave NEVER had a bad time, nor experience with anyone from the RCG (well maybe one incident, but it was eventually cleared up)

I have ALOT on my plate right now so it is hard for me to attend until things settle down abit. I wish we meet more often as a group as well, however I can fully understand why we don't. Be that as it is, we can and do seem to organize more "fun" activites then at any other time that I can remember in the (2) years I've been in the gang.

Best part about the gang is that I consider many of you good friends and have done many smaller activities with individuals or groups. These are some great examples:

Jim and Neal: Basically doing all the brakes on my car
Jim, Debbie and Donavan: Helping me updgrade the brakes.
Neal: Building me ramps
Jed and Randy: Hanging out with the Underground groups and talking new mods
Chris: For basically SAVING me big $$$$ on purchasing a ring and then a new TV at Tweeter
Tom: For well just bing one of the easiest guys to talk to.
Kirby: For staying on the phone with me for about an hour last night (at midnight) just shooting the crap about humifors and cigars.
Dave: For being patient with me about fixing my paint....repeatably!

That's not all just a few...

To my friends of the RCG, pleasure to have meet all of you

Hang in there Mark, we still love you as our leader. I guess I started all this and I'm sorry for doing that. Chris and Martha are fun to have with us, but I understand that sometimes, things just don't go as planned. So, let's follow our leader and suck down a cool one and mellow out.

NEWS FLASH-- Chad just corned a big black snake just outside his bedroom. This thing was about 4 feet long and pissed. If I didn't know better, I would swear it was a cobra! But the head didn't flare. It was able to stand about 2 feet and strike the shovel I had pretty hard. Now we all feel like snakes are everywhere. Now I have another reason for a cool one.

Tom...Don't be such a pu$$y and go poke it in the eye with a stick. That's what I would do, if I were there...but since I'm not I'll just be here for moral support

Y'all do what ya NEED to do.

I'm kinda new here so I don't have alot of input on this but I will say the reason I joined this group is because it is NOT so structured and formal. I enjoy getting togther...hangin' out..socializing and going on "runs" and talking cars or whatever else comes up at the get togethers. Seems like a pretty good group of people and I've definitely got my money's worth...oh yea...it's free!!

If you guys scheduled alot more events...I wouldn't be able to make alot of them anyways because I do have other things going on that would cause me to miss alot of them anyways so it wouldn't do me much good.

If I want more structured and formal...there's a group in Charlotte for that and after going to a couple of thier meetings...it just wasn't for me.

Thanks for you guys in RCG that have welcomed me to the group and keep me coming back.

Like I said, this is a great bunch of guys that like talking and driving Vettes. It is very difficult to find good (even rowdy at times) people to hang with. I guess we should appreciate what we have here. It would be cool to have a good place to call our own. So far, I really like Vinnie's. You think they would let us hang some pictures of our gang?

Not surprised!! I was probably cruising at 70-75 in 5th or 6th trying to find a particular song on my Linkin' Park CD and following you single file and looked up and thought..."Humm...looks like Jed is doing a run...saw some exhaust and Torco spewing my way...and dropped it to 4th and put it to the floor and started rolling.

I want to get you going by while I'm outside the Vette. I love the sound of that blower. It reminds me of a water injected J-57 engine on a KC-135 Tanker during takeoff.
