I could be mistaken but I believe the class you are signing up for is to get a racing lic. You will be running door to door going into and out of corners. That sounds like a lot of fun but I am not willing to do that in my car.
You might want to have a set of bedded front and rear brakes ready to be installed after the second day. CMP is brutal on brakes.

Give some thought to HPDE's at the local tracks. There was one at CMP just last weekend sponsored by the Carolina's Region Porsche Club. We only had 3 'Vettes show up amongst a covey of Porsches.
At these events (they’re all pretty much the same format regardless of who sponsors it) you're assigned an instructor and progressively advanced through the status of beginner, intermediate to advanced as you gain track experience.
These venues don't allow fender banging or any unsafe driving, but it still carries a degree of risk since the speeds get pretty serious. It is a safe way to explore the limits of your car and yet maintain its streetibility. There are a couple of these events going on somewhere in the area every month.
