Default fan settings!!

Hello there. I have a z06 2001 and I was wondering if its possible to adjust my fan settinngs to go on sooner, without changing my thermostat. Right now my temps are
In traffic around 220-236 deg, in the freeway at normal speed around 190-200
And street driving around 220. Can I have my fans turn on sooner so my engine temp durring traffi can stay around 200 or less. If so is there any tunners in the san fernando valley or santa clarita valley that can help me out. Thanks allot guys n gals

Yes. You just need some tuning software.

The easiest way is to buy a manual fan switch from https://www.southerncarparts.com. Use the code "fangp25" and you will pay just $74.99 for this item. I just ordered one for my 2009 Vert.

Well Ryan, If you can find someone with HP Tuner to do it for only $20 that would be great. I just hope the guy doesn't lock you out of your ECM in case you want any future tuning done on your car!!!

If your temps are higher than normal the first thing to do is clean the radiator and condenser. Even if it "looks" clean use a air compressor with a long wand with rubber tip on the end so you don't bend the fins, then wash radiator down with hose (not too much force). You'll be surprised how much dirt comes out. I had over-heating issues recently, first 2 weeks 235 degrees then last week up to 253 dg I cleaned the radiator and temps seem to be back to normal now, 205 - 220.

Do that first.

Then come see us over at D.T.S. to get your fan settings adjusted.
We can do just the fans if you like.
However we are running specials all the time.
Give us a call we're in Reseda.

Richard

I got rid of my HPTuner or I would have done it for free.

But Doug from DTS (post just above mine) in Reseda help teach me a lot about tuning.

I would trust him with any tuning needs.

He could change your fan settings with his eyes closed and one hand tied behind his back .........
