ACS and Big Willow are my least favorite DE/TT tracks.
Rather avoid the simple tracks with long straights.
Consider technical tracks too.
Prefer Buttonwillow, Chuckwalla and Spring mtn where corners are linked together and the car is almost always turning or in transition.

I second the motion. Ed Balletta would make a "great" executive committee member. He also carries AAA towing service "Howie" as you know .

Forget LS, there noise restriction policy doesn't allow cars with Borla Stinger exhaust + LT headers like my car. Why should I drive 800 miles to just get kicked off the track.

I assure you that BWRP is my least favorite. But the schedule has to be put together with a diversity and within the available SV events. At least I got us 2 days at WSIR. There was only 2 days scheduled by SV for the whole year !!!!
Did you get my PM about the upcoming WSIR day on 12/17 !!!!

Proposed 2012 Rules!
OK guys, here's my draft of the rules. Feedback is encouraged, we want this to be fair, and to make as many people happy as possible.
Here you go:
1) You must drive a car based on a production Corvette model (no C6.R’s or purpose built racecars)
2) Cars will be classified into the following divisions:
Stock 0 – 100 points
Modified 101 – 200 points
Super Modified 201 – 300 points
Unlimited 301+ points
3) Points will be determined by a combination of the model Corvette you are driving, and the modifications you have done to that vehicle. Most modifications add points (effectively putting you into a higher class), however there are some modifications that actually *decrease* your point total (e.g. most safety equipment). The base point value of your Corvette is as follows:
Base points for a C4/C5 = 0
Base points for a C5 Z06 or C6 (w/ LS2) = 50
Base points for a C6 (LS3) = 70
Base points for a C6 Grandsport = 80
Base points for a C6 Z06 = 170
Base points for a C6 ZR1 = 260
Points for modifications are as follows:
Engine
Increase Engine displacement: +10 for every 100cc
Forced Induction: +120 points
Aftermarket Cam: +60 points
Remove cats: +5 points
Headers: +5 points
ECU retuned: +25 points
Aftermarket/Modified heads: +15 points
Tires
Treadwear 140+: 0 points
Treadwear 100-139: +30 points
Treadwear 50-99: +50 points
Hoosier R6, Kumho V700, BF Goodrich R1, Goodyear Eagle RS DOT: +100 points
Hoosier A6: +120 points
Non-DOT full racing slick: +140 points
Transmission
Close Ratio Transmission: +20 points
Sequential Transmission: +30 points
Suspension & Brakes
Coilovers: +20 points
Aftermarket shocks (w/ stock springs): +5 points
Aftermarket springs (w/ stock shocks): +15 points
Any changes to OEM sway bars: +15 points
Note: All modifications to suspension geometry, brakes, endlinks, bushings, or modified ride heights and/or alignments are unrestricted (0 points)
Aero
Rear spoiler (non OEM): 5 points
Any rear wing: 15 points
Rear wing and spoiler: 15 points
Front end aerodynamics (e.g. splitters, canards, etc.): 10 points
Vented/Aftermarket hood: 5 points
Any other aero bits (e.g. ZR1 side skirts): 0 points
Misc
Removal of parts for weight reduction purposes (e.g. removal of passenger seat, interior carpeting, speakers, air conditioning unit, interior panels, etc.): +10 points each
SCCA or FIA licensed driver with more than 3 podium finishes must run Unlimited Class regardless of car.
Any other modifications not covered above add 0 points.
Safety
Full cage or Rollbar (not a harness bar): –10 points
4) The fastest single timed lap of the day will be considered for the competition. In the case of a tie, the second fastest times will be considered. Timed sessions that will count toward the competition will be announced before the track day, however, in most cases the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th sessions will be the sessions that count.
5) Points will be awarded to the top finishers as follows:
1st - 10 points
2nd - 6 points
3rd - 4 points
4th - 3 points
5th - 2 points
6th - 1 point
The driver must be present to win a trophy. Gift certificates applicable to a future Speedventures event will be available in lieu of a trophy, at the winning driver's option. For season point totals only the top 6 finishes will count. At the end of the season, ties are broken by giving the higher position to the driver with the greater number of 1st place finishes, or, if that still results in a tie, 2nd place finishes (and so on).

Okay lets here all the moaning and groaning .........
I will start
So I am wondering which tires for 30 points are the C6Z06 guys going to run and still stay in MODIFIED? Are the R888 over 100 tread wear. Aren't they much faster than NT05 or GY ??

R888 are in the +30 point group, meaning that a C6 Z06 running these tires would just barely make it into "modified" if there were absolutely no other mods on the car. The R888's are a bit faster than the NT05's, so they cost 30 points.

I am confident a stock C6 Z06 on 140tw tires (let alone 100tw) will still dominate Modified. Even over a GS with A6's let alone those with less HP. Driver's being equal.
That said I'll toss this out --
Tires
Treadwear 200+: 0 points
Treadwear 140+: 30 points
Treadwear 100-139: +50 points
Treadwear 50-99: +70 points
Hoosier R6, Kumho V700, BF Goodrich R1, Goodyear Eagle RS DOT: +100 points
Hoosier A6: +120 points
Non-DOT full racing slick: +140 points
-- in my attempt to level the field.

Thanks for spending all the time and effort to fine tune the rules.
Looking forward to seeing the CC schedule so I can save the dates.
C5Z in super modified with V710s...
Bummed on 1/28 we already commited to Palm Springs for a b-day party.
At least I get to take my 911 and run Chuckwalla with the PCA on that Saturday.
But my first choice would of been in the Vette at Buttonwillow.
