I was thinking of finally doing some mods to my Z06. After 2 years of being stock, and seeing everyone else's mods I been itching to start modding it.
What I had in mind are: headers, x-pipe, Borla Stingers (or maybe Corsa Pace Cars), and a Vortex intake.
I was going to let a shop like West Coast Corvettes or A&A do the work, but I would rather do it myself. I'm great with working on my own cars, but the garage I have in my apartment complex is too small to work in, and I don't have a lift, which you kindda need for the exhaust and headers installation.
So with some help from some fellow Vette owners, and use of someone's lift, maybe this could be a DIY job? What do you think?
It may be a month or two before I'm ready to go with these mods. I need to find a new job first before dishing out the cash for the parts. But as soon as I do land a job, I will be ready to mod right away. :D
Stingray -- Install time on the headers differ a bit depending on which you go with -- Shorties aren't nearly as much of a pain . . . LT's vary on manufacture and design, but figure about 4 hours soup to nuts. A full swap isn't too tough as long as you've crossed your T's, etc . . . besides, you're damn near pulling everything if you're swapping for LTs and X-pipe at the same time.
Assuming that you've got enough room to get under the car, LT's can be a straight-forward DIY job -- CA smog is a different [long, drawn out, and painful] story . . . but that doesn't change whether LTs are a DIY job or not ;)
Maybe when Jim and I swap out my rotors we can also lower your rear end. From what I hear that's a less than a hour little thing to do.

Hell yeah - I'm down with that. Even better - I have a lift and an air compressor - if y'all wanted to use that at my place to do brakes, and bring some tools....everything might even go faster :) Just an idea. If not, and you guys don't mind the company, I'll come to you folks.
Cool thing is my lift is a scissor type and can be rolled around :)
Much like the one pictured, only mine is a 36" max height - car is supported on 4 outrigger legs..it's very handy. Wheels and a leverage point on one side allow it to be easily moved :)
Hey Elvy, can you get your gay buddy to relocate to Ventura County? I have the lift, you have the supervision and he's really gung-ho :lolg:  :lolg: Best,
Hey Jim, Karen wants to know if you can Blueprint her '01 Toyota Tundra
And the lexus needs new brakes
She said you and I would have a "gay" ole time doing it :lolg: :lolg:
She can see us now... tight short Levis cutoffs, tank tops with gray hiking socks and Merrell hiking boots :lolg:

:hat That's a good idea "MTV" and property here, beach front if you want, is about $.50 cheaper than in SD. With that kind of savings you could have gas $ for many extra SCMR's. What a deal!
I was going to run to Temecula on the 1st (to supervise), but now I have to get ready that weekend for a week at Warner Robins AFB (oh no, there might be gay guys there - better take my shorts). :U :lolg: :lolg:
C5inTemecula - I like that lift. Now to start searching the internet for info & $'ing. Thanks.
