Re: Car Show in The Woodlands October 27th (CorvetteSS)
CorvetteSS- I for one think you have a beautiful car, but that might just be my opinion (even though i doubt it).
This car show seems like a good thing, for a good cause and I hope I can figure out a way to get down there from Dallas to get to see it. :)

Snowman,
Hopefully we can get someone to help you in vette transport services dept. :)
I'd love to help but looks like I'm going to be busier than proverbial one-legged man at derrier kicking contest. Besides, I have to leave early :(
Yep, this event is for a good cause and end result should be fun for all involved on a gorgeous day.
I'll be wearing a USS St Louis ballcap and driving a refrigerator white shark.... :D stop and say hello... I'd like to meet some forum members.

Well JW you can talk trash can't ya? Well, David and I will try to hang on without you then. BTW, you aren't GIVING us anything. Your daily driver sob story doesn't cut it over here either. My car is COVERED with bugs and stickum and dirt from drag racing last weekend and driving the 2.5 hours to RCR and back, coming back at night. I didn't know there WERE bugs so big in Texas! I don't know you enough to know if you are serious or not. If you're kidding, then fine. If you're serious, I recommend you get down off your high horse before you FALL down Bud.

Re: Car Show in The Woodlands October 27th (Snowman)
I'm still looking for someone who could drive my 67 convert over to the show. The 1990 Coupe is at COH getting a broken valve spring replaced (hopefully not a full valve job...at least the valve didn't drop into the combustion chamber). The 67 has a brand new clutch...drives like a late model car. Let me know if you could do it otherwise I will just bring the 97.

Funny that JW never shows up when there is real competition or at judged shows.
Glad to see you finally stopped considering yourself "real" competition. I have events with the SHCC which were planned out in advance, not to mention preferred. My car is not a "judged show" type car, so I don't enter them. I drive mine, so it gets dirty. You should try it some time.
Let's see... 9,500 miles in 10 months. I don't drive it? Of course I've been employed all year and don't have quite as much time to drive my car as you do. Maybe that explains it.
I'm also glad to see that you really don't consider your car show worthy. It seems that you actullay do have a lucid thought once in a while. As far as it being too dirty to be judged, there is such a thing as "cleaning it". I'd think with all the time on your hands you'd be able to do that.
I still look forward to competing against you in a real show. How about Autorama?

Hey, you guys, cut it out. Pretty soon the Forum is going to start charging to "enter the site". Certainly this kind of entertainment won't be free forever. :D
Actually, it's all in good fun. JW and I are really friends. We just have a little rivalry going on.

You're right. We really need to get back to Auto vs. 6 speed and what color Vette should I get.

Okay all is cool with me. Like I said, I don't know you very well and if you're kidding no problemo. I have won a couple of awards myself JW. One of these days we'll go head to head. See you guys on Saturday. Holler if you can help me get my 67 over there.

Snowman where do you live in Houston? I am right across the street from the Woodlands Mall in Oakridge Forest. I am planning on going to the Car Show and I am not entering my 98 Vette, so I could be avalible to help you out. :)

Re: Car Show in The Woodlands October 27th (Hissey)
Okay. Chuck and I talked and he's the man to help me ferry cars on Saturday. Great conversation, good guy. Thank you for helping out on Saturday!
Friday night:
My 67 is ready to go. The 97 is truly awful after drag racing last weekend and killing every bug from Seguin to Conroe on my way home. If anyone is lonesome and wants to help prepare a car tonight (Friday), call me at home 936 321-4484. I have beer. :D
See you there on Saturday!

Okay. I'm ready to roll. Both cars are clean. May leave the top for the 97 at home and go topless. I think it is supposed to be a nice day.
BTW, JW and I met up at COH today and we're doing fine.

This probably applies only to those of us with youngsters. :)
The owner of "King Krunch" ala monster truck will bring his creation for display. He normally charges for this sooo bring the kids for a free viewing.

Re: Car Show in The Woodlands October 27th (Snowman)
Beautiful weather today. Just PERFECT weather.
I had a bad day. My 97 ended up crapping out (we think it is throwout bearing or the bolts backing out of the clutch. I had to trailer it to COH late today.
Many thanks for Hissey and company for helping me get the car loaded (both times).
Oh and for those of you who won the "thanks for coming" awards, I didn't get squat today. All the awards went to old cars. 66 this and 57 that. Either that or I got there too late and got parked out in the West 40 acres. Many of the winning cars were within about 100 feet of the judging booth. Oh well, WTF. It was a nice day and a good cause.
Oh well. Now that just about all my cars are at COH, I am going to take a break I think.

Snowman,
I'm sorry to hear about your lousy luck yesterday; hope the mechanical gods line the stars up for better luck on your end of telephone line. Can't believe your 67 didn't win one. :(
Scott,
Outstanding job on the pics. Thanks.
I had to bug out 2 hours even earlier than planned sooo... I got to help in early logistics and then leave. :cry If I didn't get to meet you, sorry about that.
The food drive was extremely successful and we should be able to help the Meals on Wheels program with a nice donation. Hopefully, everybody had fun and got to see some very  rides.

Great pics. Had a bad day yesterday...would have been no big deal about the judging outcomes if my car hadn't crapped out. Missed a great party in Austin last night. :D
