Default Phoenix area local knowledge request

1st trip to Arizona, wife has a business conference in Phoenix Mon-Wed next week. I'd like to play golf the first 2 days while she's in class, can anyone suggest 2 local courses close to Phoenix suitable for the "average" player, scenic and reasonably priced (under $100)? You folks seem to live in golf and Corvette heaven , they're so many to choose from on the internet I'm hoping for some local advice. Also if any favorites for a good steak dinner while in Phoenix. Thanks in advance for any replies, really wish I could bring the car with me!

they rent plenty of vettes here if you get bored.

Ruth Chris for your steak. I like the one on Indian School in Scottsdale, sit on the patio. Maybe plan it for Saturday because when you leave you can drive down Indian School east about 2miles to the Pavillions. Arizonas longest running car show. Every sat, never a sat missed in I believe its coming up on 20+ years. Typically there will be 40-100 vettes there.

You really cant go wrong as far as Golf goes. Youll want to get out of Scottsdale to play if you are Average. Dont get me wrong, there are avg courses there but your payin for Scottsdale. Plenty of nice courses in just about every town, and just about impossible to not get a view. But some prety spectacular views specifically in the East valley. East mesa, gilbert, queen creek, chandler. Check out Groupon, you may get lucky.

Enjoy the visit!

The Pavillion's is the longest continous running car show in the country. This time of the year is the best time to see it.

Here's some more car show information for the metro Phoenix area...

Lots of good steak houses...RUTH CHRIS, OUTBACK, BLACK ANGUS. Depends on your budget.

As to golf, I can't say.
