Just talked to Alan at Fikse and he said the barrel was on back order but he has it in hand now and he will get it repaired and shipped today.

Unfortunately, no, I didn't. They called and said they went with an internal candidate.

With that, sadly, I have held out as long as I can. My coupe will be going up for sale as soon as I get outside and clean it up. I'm not happy about it, but I do plan on getting another one after I'm back to working again.

Dang Ed, I was sure you had one of the 2 you interviewed with. I have a couple of thoughts. I will text you.

I was too. I've never interviewed face-to-face and not gotten the job. Not once, ever. After a phone interview and two face-to-face interviews I'd thought the job was clinched for certain.

I've never known a company to look outside for new staff when they were considering internal candidates at the same time. Usually they give the people already working there a fair shot at the job before they spend the money to post a job listing and conduct interviews. Whoever made that decision was an idiot who wasted a bunch of the company's money, not to mention my time and gas/toll costs.

I got your text. I'll check into it, and thank you.

Good Luck and keep me informed of your status. 1 if not all 3 of the companies I sent you need your background.

Judging by the response I'm getting from my ad I don't expect to still see my coupe sitting in the driveway this weekend.

Probably, but not by much, and I do need it to sell quickly. It is what it is I guess. I'd never recoup what I put into it anyway. The thing that kills me the most is that I'd just finished fixing the last thing that needed to be fixed and was finally ready to kick back and just enjoy the car.

I'm thinking the next Corvette will be a C6 GS. Blade silver or that dark blue sounds good.

My car is sold pending final payment. The new owner will be picking it up on Sunday. He'll probably be getting hold of you soon after Lee; he lives up near Little Elm.

Man, I hate to hear that Ed, but I know it won't be long before you are in that new C6 GS Keep us updated and let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Will do Lee, thanks. The original plan was to buy the daily driver AFTER I'd found a job, but it looks like the plan is reversed now. I'll already have the DD and will be able to start setting money aside for the new Vette once I'm back to working again. It'll work itself out one way or another and I'll be back in my ride of choice soon enough.

Darn it about the job. Are you going to continue to look here in DFW area?

Thanks Liz. I am still looking in this area, but am also searching in Arizona in the Phoenix area because it has established itself as a central IT hub in the country. Other than my daughters, my entire family is in Arizona; they all picked up and moved out there several years ago, so I can call either Texas or Arizona home, as both are.
