Default are kooks long "race only" tube headers leagle in texas

i have a chevy silverado and want to install kooks headers. it gives me 3 options. no cats, race only cats, and cats

i want to install race only cats if they are leagle?

Race cats are higher flowing cats, but are still cats. Should be legal.

No cats is not legal, but depends on what county you are in and what is required for inspection if you would ever get caught.

I know someone who might run with gutted race cats in a county were emissions are required. That person passes every year (its visual inspection only for the cats).

No long tube header is legal anywhere unless it's on an offroad vehicle. Any modification to the emission system is illegal in all 50 states. Can they pass, sure.

I've had Kooks Longtubes and race cats, for 5 years with no problems passing the emissions testing anywhere.
