if this is true...what a ashole. I had some similar stuff happen to me...lost 1500 bucks. Taking legal action may cost more...so its just not worth it...but I would whoop his *** if he was nearby.

DON'T WALK...BUT RUN FROM THIS GUY AS FAST AND AS FAR AS YOU CAN!!!
I was interested/serious about buying this car back in September and sent him a $2,000 deposit. The afternoon prior to flying out to see the car in person he calls and states that the engine has a problem and may need to be rebuilt. I asked him what the problem was and he wasn't sure. He then asked if I was still interested in going through with the purchase and being shocked about the new situation I told him I would be patient and would let him know.
A few days later...after cancelling my airline reservations, I decided that I didn't want to go through with this "roller-coaster" of events and attempted to call numerous times. HE NEVER ANSWERED ANY OF MY VOICE MAILS, MY PM's ON THE CF OR E-MAILS!!!!
Now, I am out $2,000 and he thinks he's the wiser!
What amazes me is his audacity to advertise once again on this forum. I am still deciding whether it's worth my time to take legal action.
<Once again this proves the CF should charge a $100 annual subscription to weed out people like this....but all-in-all, I just want the "good" people on this forum to be forewarned>

On another note, this Z06 is amazing and with a 408ci in it now This car is a great price and I'm sure over $60k has been spent on it since there was $50k or more when I sold it

I'm writing up a PM to SaveWave to clear some things up now.
Everyone else, Please don't jump to any conclusions until you hear my side of the story.
Thank you,
Jeff

I can vouch for Jeff in the fact that I know him and he is a really nice guy. I can't say anything on the situation at hand except that I hope it's not true. Everyone, I realize I am new, but give him a chance, you never know what could have happened. Not returning the money asap though is inexcusable.
Good luck Jeff and get this straight.

Here's the Cliff Notes version I got via PM from hydroshutter:
He took a non-refundable deposit to hold the car for BlackRocket. Before BlackRocket could inspect the car, hydroshutter notifed him there was a problem with the motor that needed to be addressed.
Hydroshutter says BlackRocket told him, fine, get the motor problem resolved and he still wanted the car since he was going to get a new motor at no additional cost.
Later, according to hydroshutter, BlackRocket changed his mind and wanted his money back. Meanwhile, hydroshutter says he had lost three other potential buyers on the car and, in fact, is now trying to start over on selling the car.
At this juncture, both parties seem to be reasonable in their PMs to me. My recommendation:
1. This issue should have been resolved by posting an unresolved dispute thread, rather than hijacking a for sale thread. But that can't be undone now. So, I'm going to close this thread as if it were an unresolved dispute thread where each party has posted his version of the facts. If either party wants to add anything they think is missing, let me know and I'll consider adding it to this post.
2. Take the issue offline in an attempt to work out the dispute. For whatever reason, there does not appear to have been a good flow of communications between hydroshutter and BlackRocket. I'll be glad to work with them as an intermediary to help bring them to a conclusion that is equitable for each of them. I'll report the results of that effort in this thread -- one way or another.
3. Presuming hydroshutter still wants to sell his car and BlackRocket no longer wants it, hydroshutter should start a new thread offer the car for sale.
