Default Buyer Be Warned

Has anyone else had dealings with Corvette Mod's out of Fort Worth TX? Mine has been one of the worst I have ever experienced and a costly one! Just looking to see if anyone else has experienced an issue with them and what you may have done to resole it.

They're terrible. Returning something was a giant pain. They only acted as a middleman; it drop shipped from another vendor. Good luck. I wish i did more research prior to buying from them.

As do I.... more research that is. The BBB in Fort Worth has a "D" rating for them and they have a lot of similar complaints on their webpage that mirror my issue. Hard to understand how a business can stay afloat as long as they have with customer support like they have or lack there of. The real pisser is I am out $700.00 and going to have to buy the part somewhere else. WOW paying $1,400.00 for a $700.00 part. Can anyone say theft!!!!! I hope more people see this and take warning!

I’m like you ... don’t understand how they stay in business with such well documented lousy customer service.

I had the opposite experience with them but seems I’m in the minority. I ordered a set of seat belts for my ‘77 from them even after reading their reviews - trust me as soon as I sent the payment I felt like an idiot, but they did have the exact color I needed. Well I was able to get my existing belts fixed, so I canceled the order. They kept me notified of my refund status by email, then low and behold my $400 showed back up in my account. However, even though I had a good experience with them, I’ll still never order anything from them again for my ‘77 or my ‘03. There are quite a few vendors with good reputations to choose from.

I am familiar with many of the vendors on the forum, but, whenever I'm making a purchase from a vendor I am not familiar with I check them out on the Transactions section at https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...-feedback-153/. I have avoided a couple of potentially disappointing purchases by using Transactions. I also check the ratings of sellers on the big bidding site. You can tell a lot about the seller by their feedback.

Have you notified your credit card company? They may be able to reverse the transaction and get your money back for you.

And, the forum dropped Corvette Mods from being a vendor quite some time back because of all the issues forum members were encountering.

Horrible experience here. Probably not as bad as I had with others or even Forgestar, but hey who’s counting.

I ordered fog light screens from them and they were garbage; broken right out of the box. I also never received everything I ordered. I had to open a credit card dispute to get a refund (from the CC company, not Corvette Mods), so I guess it ended okay, but it definitely wasn't worth the hassle!

Recent bad experience from them as well. They gave me a hard time about previous purchases and didn't resolve any of my "mod points." from previous purchases. So I have zero points for anything i've purchased from them because I was told they expired in 90 days. Nothing on the site says they expire and they even encourage building up points over time. The points would have amounted to a drop in the bucket and maybe saved me about $5 on a $150 order so it was more about a scam of a rewards program and customer service. I have a $50 gift card to them and don't even want to spend it there :-/

Previous experiences were not good either.

If you are considering purchasing anything from a vendor, I encourage you to do a search in the Transactions Feedback section of the forum, which is where this thread is being moved to. That section is designed to provide useful feedback on purchase experiences from both vendors and forum members, both good and bad.

Some of you guys aren't paying attention to this section, then making unsubstantiated claims. Corvette Mods has been removed as a vendor for a few years now. At least once every couple weeks, someone posts their CM horror story in this section. 20 other posters vent about how shitty Corvette Mods is, moderator comes in and explains that CM has not been a vendor here for several years and locks the thread.
Don't believe me?
Click on "back to subforum" button below and look at page 1. I'll guarantee you at least 7 CM complaint threads on page one alone.

Exatly right. There are pages of complaints about Corvette Mods and it shouldn’t be a shock that threads here are closed as they won’t be responding any time soon. They were removed as a site vendor years ago so making site-bashing accusations are baseless and uniformed.

Complaints about disputes or vendors belong in the Transaction Feedback section.
