And I Just googled that 971 number and saw he scammed some folks in another corvette forum and a BMW forum. Need to remind people to post up phone numbers when someone tries to scam them and also to google the phone number of anyone your doing business with to see if they have hit anyone else. It’s far from fool proof but it’s an easy thing to do.

Yea, and as soon as someone asks for payment that cannot be disputed that's also a huge red flag.
In my case he’s pretending to be two different sellers, on different items. Then claims his PayPal is friends and family only. That way you can’t recoup your money when you don’t receive your items. He’s used the same phone number pretending to be both sellers though, so not the most intelligent scammer

There is no such PayPal account type as I understand it. Both options are always available. When new people prefer I use F & F, I tell them I’ll pay their fee. When they use the new excuse, that if you don’t use F & F they cant hide their sales from the IRS, I tell them their scams are not my problem.
Unless you know the seller or are prepared to lose your money, never use F & F.
I was contacted by a person using the same phone number yesterday in response to a WTB post I made. He sent me pictures of the item that I was looking for and I used Google to search for the images he'd sent me. They were taken from a previous item for sale here on Corvette Forum. Later on, the mods contacted me and warned me that it might be a scam. The user name that was used this time was Johnwick82. Since then, I have received two more responses to my WTB from different users and each of those used images from a previous sale post for the same item. The Google image search is a powerful tool and alert you to scammers.

It's important for you to report suspicious solicitations to moderators so we can take action and prevent others from being scammed. Please report the two subsequent scam messages you received by clicking on the trianble outlined in red on the PMs you received.
We catch some of the scammers through various means we have developed, but we can't catch all of them without the help of community members giving us a prompt heads-up.
