Anybody know what is going on at Wicox Corvette? The site has been down for a couple of days.
I used to deal with Zip Corvette, but since their site became "smart" it is no longer possible to enter the correct shipping address when ordering from them.
Maybe they have gone belly up. I ordered t-top weatherstripping over a month ago from Wilcox and still have not received it. It showed in stock. I try to always use ZIP. If needed you can just place your order over the phone. They can probably also help with your shipping address issue. Very nice and knowledgeable folks at ZIP.
Weatherstrip order problem sounds familiar to my experience. What a pain! You can still buy from Wilcox but I would only do it through their Ebay store. No "lost" orders there.
Thanks for answering.
I wanted to avoid the hassle of having to call (I'm in europe), and also don't want to risk them sending it without the correct address information anyway.
The Wilcox Ebay shop seems to have a very limited selection.
Hello Danish Shark. I have no idea how it works from Denmark but Zip does have "a 800" telephone number. I know that I can call it from Canada at no charge, not sure what happens if you were to call from Denmark. Good luck getting your parts.
Try to send Wilcox a message thru ebay and ask them to list the item of what you want.
Just click on one of their items for sale and then click on contact seller.
I would personally buy t-top parts and gaskets from Melrose T-tops (and I have). They're great to deal with, know their stuff, prices are decent. They know good gaskets from the poorly-made crap that shows up on fleabay.
Their tech. site is/was a great help to many. I believe that the running of Willcox has changed in the last few years? If that's correct perhaps that explain the change in operations. I see that their website is unavailable still. Hopefully it can be as it was.

Willcox was never known for tech support if you called. The guy answering the phone knows nothing and may even tell you that. I sent mail to them and was told not to ask questions when I call...OMG! WTF is that all about? Why have someone call a corvette parts vendor and the person that answers can't answer any questions about corvette parts? Huh?! It appears that they have had issues for a while now, whatever that means. I don't think they even posted on here about what is going on, so they must NOT care about the business. I know that every time I ordered anything from them, it took forever to get that item, which is crap. I stopped ordering anything from them a while ago. I wouldn't even order anything from ZIP either, but that's just me. GL with your parts search wherever you go.
I was in the forums a few weeks ago looking for the best place to get an assembly manual, and everything I read recommended Willcox. There was even a link I clicked on and ordered what was supposed to be the downloadable CD version. After the process of ordering it, I went to the home page, only to be greeted with a message that read, DO NOT ORDER ANYTHING ONLINE, we are having trouble with our website. Funny, the website wasn't having any problems taking my money. Long story short, I've been trying to get a hold of someone there for a few weeks and no actual response. Emails get automated response still but website is completely down now. All I need is the download link, I hate to have to deal with the bank.
I don't suppose anyone would be willing to send me a downloadable link for the Assembly Manual CD format 1961-1982, specifically for a 1980 C3, if I show them my receipt form Willcox?

Ernie got really sick last year and hasnt been on the site since last fall. He's even stopped emailing me direct. I'm fearing the worst. I dont know who has been running the business in his absence. If I get in touch I will let you know
I would guess that when Ernie was involved directly, the business was what we have all learned to appreciate. If Ernie is no longer involved directly.....that explains it all. This is very typical in today's world. The senior generation that supported this hobby, these cars, from back in the 60's was what made the quality of parts and service. Many are dying or gone. Once they are gone,....I really doubt there will be replacements. Look at the guys, like Gary Ramadei, Jody Haas, Mark Jones........nobody is doing the work they do.

Wilcox was the GO TO Chevrolet dealer for Corvette parts for many many years and it was because of Ernie. Their web site left a lot to be desired but if you called and talked to Ernie you always got the help you needed.
I hope the best for Ernie.
It`s sad to read some of these comments. I`ve spent thousands, bought 95% of all my parts from them, called & e-mailed, talked with Ernie on the phone. I always got EXCELLENT service from them, lots of free advice, fair prices & reasonable shipping charges. One time, I ordered a wrong part number, called, & found out what went wrong. Even though it was MY mistake, they gave me a very good break on the correct part. Once I ordered something from the "used" part section, only to find they didn`t have it. I mentioned that they should take it off the site then. They did, then SENT ME THE PART from Ernie`s own stock! But the thing that stands out the most is the air cleaner. I ordered a re-pro dual snorkel. It is only made by ONE guy in the whole country who has the molds & GM authorized. He only makes a few when he gets several orders. I waited & waited, & waited. I kept getting a projected date that kept getting farther away. I called & talked to Ernie, and told him I was going to Daytona, and wanted to know if I would get the air cleaner before the Turkey Run? Ernie said he had one off one of his own cars that he would send me to use for the car show! I explained my question was because I didn`t want to buy one (if I saw one) at the swap meet, then have the re-pro come in. In the long run, when it didn't come in, he asked if I wanted a used original (the one he offered to loan be before), and he would keep the re=pro if it ever showed up. I told him yes, I`d rather have an original anyway! He offered to clean it up & repaint it for me too! I said I`d take it just like it was. He shipped it to me free. THAT is the kind of person Ernie is, and the kind of service they offered. I don`t know what`s happening up there now, but this is NOT the way they have ever done business before.

Hes our age or so. But other than that i dont want to discuss his medical history without his consent. I will say he got injured very badly while running. Had surgery. It didnt heal right and it just went down hill from there. I was really hoping to use some vacation time to run down and see him. We had also planned some sea coast lobster shack cruising up here. I really hope he is still around.
