Default Corvette Central

I need to show the thought process of Corvette Central. I never complain but some people just don't get it when it comes to doing the right thing.

I ordered a cable for my 95 which is the convertible top release cable. I pick the cable for 94-96. it was the wrong cable. The car was in the shop getting some other repairs done so the mechanic looked up the website for Corvette Central and ordered the cable for an earlier model which was overnighted to them. It worked perfectly. Therefore they have the wrong cables online in regards to ordering.

I returned the wrong cable and asked for my $30 overnight charge to be credited with the cable.

Of course the overnight charge is not covered or the original shipping as they said it was just a fluke it was the wrong cable.

It is not about the money but more about just telling someone tough luck. It's your problem not ours.

Just wanted to let everyone know if it is wrong your going to have the problem not them.

How did mechanic know to order wrong cable that was right?

Here we go again with the vendor refusing to take responsibility for making a mistake. They screwed up, not you, and they should assume the costs.

I would have to say that Corvette Central is "more right". You could have ordered the correct part and waited for it and not paid to have it overnighted. That was you or the shops decision, so as long as they refunded your $$$ for the wrong cable..... .

p.s. and they reimbursed you for the original shipping charge as well..

Did I completely misunderstand the OP or did he not say the wrong cable was ordered because it was listed wrong on CC’s site, and that the OP was not reimbursed for the original shipping charge?

They are not suppose to sell wrong parts!!

Therefore they owe part and shipping.

Are you the original owner of the car? Curious if someone has replaced the top with a complete top from a different year. It will bolt on but there will be little differences in them. I have seen this many times.
