I am looking at getting an 18/19 set of SSR wheels. Are these wheels clearly better than the OEM Z wheels on my car? Also, tirerack is suggesting 275 width tires for the rears on a 19x10 wheel. Any reason why they are recommending narrower tires than on the stock Z wheels? Any comments on SSR wheels as compared to the stock Z wheels would be appreciated.
Ok, JMHO but I would say they are not clearly better than OEM Z06 wheels. That being said the prices they are offering for them are great as they are going disco. so if ya like the look go for it. As for size, must just have something to do with the program they are running, a 295 will fo on a 10" wheel. One thing ya may want to look into is the offset of the wheel you are looking at and brake clearance for a Big Brake package for the future.

I would imagine they are recommending this size because the rolling diameter of a 275/35-19 tire is very close to that of the stock 295/35-18, and almost identical to a 275/40-18.
I have been looking at these wheels for the past couple of months as well. Looks like a good deal, approx $1,000 for a set of forged wheels. I would really like to see a picture of these wheels on an actual car though.

you spoke to the wrong person ... some people are more knowledgable about certain vehicles than others
for example on your Z06 I wouldn't even consider going with a 10" rear wheel since the OE wheel is 10.5"

GT7-H silver (like the greay but the price onthe silver is too good to be true) in the 18/19 setup with Bridgestone Potenzas - 305 in the rear / 275 up front.

Must be 305/30/19, How soon will you be able to take pics of the wheels on your car? I am really thinking hard about getting the exact same as you did, I will have to see how it looks on your car.

Wheels mounted today. THey look real good - nothing radical but a good clean look. The larger sizes also look good ont he car. Hope to get pictures up tomorrow. Thanks Luke!!!!!!! (PS - I need a socket that fits these wheels and lugs)
I was ready to pull the trigger on a set of these, but EVERY OTHER 245/45-17 will work on the 9.5" front rim EXCEPT the Michelin ZP. DAMN!!!
This is one scenario that I can't understand...a 245/45 is a 245, right?? If one brand of 245 is OK on a particular size rim, why aren't they all? The SSR rims are 1" wider, front and rear, than OE in their 17" and 18" applications, so what's the big deal?
I remember the C-3 'Vettes with a 225/70-15 on an 8" rim...That was a stretch, but even GM designed that one!!

I would suggest calling Luke, he will be able to help you out and get you the right wheels with the right tires.
