Forged vs Flow Formed
Aside from the additional design options from a forged wheel and the associated manf. process, is the price difference for forged justified? Car will not be tracked at least not more than a couple times at most, if ever. Looking at changing my OEM C6 Z06 wheels with some APEX or similar flow formed. I understand the importance of weight savings, but either one weighs less than stockers.

Forged wheels are lighter and stronger, and on the APEX lineup my experience is they don’t knurl the flow formed wheels anymore, and they also come in over weight from advertised by 2lbs + and a few years ago they were closer to advertised and also knurled.
the forged wheels being stronger and stiffer has handling advantages as the wheels flex less under hard cornering. As they are lighter, that’s not only less unsprung weight, it’s less of a gyroscopic effect that also improves handling dynamics.
