Corvette: Celebrities and Their Vettes

Read on to discover which celebrities have added a Corvette (or two) to their collections.

This article applies to the C1-C7 Corvette (1953-2015).

It's well known that cars are a luxury item that celebrities often splurge on, and Corvette is no exception. From musicians and actors to NASCAR race drivers and NASA pilots, the Corvette is a beloved vehicle found in many famous garages. This article features five celebrities and their Vettes, as well as a list of other famous owners.

Celebrity Corvettes

Jay Leno

It's no secret that Jay Leno is an avid collector of classic cars. Leno owns a 1963 Corvette Stingray, a C5 Corvette Z06, and the very first ZR1 to name a few. His Youtube channel, Jay Leno's Garage, features both vintage and brand new Corvettes alike. Despite being recently pulled over while test driving the 2015 Corvette Z06, it's safe to say Jay's affinity for Corvettes isn't stopping anytime soon.

George Clooney

As if George Clooney wasn't enough of a heartthrob, the sight of him driving his 1958 Corvette V8 C1 convertible is sure to turn heads. Clooney's C1 is a more luxurious, modified version of the '56 Corvette, with an elongated body and chrome accents. It's a classic American sports car fit for one of the world's most cherished American actors.

Sir Paul McCartney

The former Beatle and rock legend Sir Paul McCartney loves driving his blue C5 convertible Corvette around Los Angeles. He has owned his C5 since 2005. Considering McCartney's car budget isn't exactly strained, it's pretty awesome to know that he still loves this American hot rod.

Robert Downey, Jr.

Robert Downey, Jr., star of the Iron Man films and most recently, The Judge, is another celebrity with an extravagant car collection. His 1965 Corvette Stingray is a standout timepiece among his Mercedes G-wagon and Ford F-150. Although Tony Stark owns (and destroys) a bevy of impressive automobiles in Iron Man, it's clear that Downey, Jr.'s real life collection surpasses it with this classic Stingray.

Angelyne

If you live in southern California, then chances are you've seen Angelyne's hot pink Corvette while driving around at some point. Hollywood's billboard Queen gained her fame in various films throughout the 70s and 80s and, most notably, through a series of self-promoting billboards of which she had over 200 at one point in the 90s. She had some acting and modeling success in the 80s, but considering her singing career never quite took off, perhaps she is most well known today for her pink Corvette, an embodiment of her persona.
