Corvettes owners and enthusiasts from all over the globe have joined Corvette Forum, but it is always a little special seeing one of our European enthusiasts post about a newly-acquired Corvette. This particular one belongs to forum member Twan Sloot, and after months of waiting on parts to get it in fine tune, it’s ready for its closeup.

What you see is his 1966 coupe, including a numbers-matching 327 300 V8 with matching 4-speed manual. The Rally red exterior paint is the original color, although it has been resprayed once. And the red interior is just like it left the factory 50-years ago.

Something we don’t often think of here in the States is how difficult it is to get parts for older Corvettes overseas. A wait time of four weeks is definitely not out of the question. We truly are spoiled with choices over here, but that just proves how owners like Twan are dedicated to preserving them.

This one will slowly but surely be put back to as close to original as possible, but with a few minor changes here and there to make it a more comfortable driver’s car. Well done, Twan Sloot! You’re a true Corvette ambassador.
