75 new carb needed
Hi
I have a 75 L-48, with auto trans & AC
I have on it a stock Q-jet carb, that needs a rebuild.
Is there any aftermarket new carbs that I can buy?
Brands and where to buy.
I would like a bolt on with out doing any mods to the car if possible.
I don't care about speed/racing performance.
I just use the car to drive to work and small trips (100 miles)
Thanx in advance

I agree.
Carbs are meant to be rebuilt. If it clogs up or a seal fails, you just clean it up and replace the seal. A fuel injector on the other hand, that will cost you $100 each.
So I would bet that any carb you buy is going to have to be tuned to your engine. You might find one that is close but then you have to consider:
A fuel line solution that is not a big long rubber hose.
Possibly an adapter plate to mount it.
Adapting the choke.
If it's a Holley there are jets, pump cams and squirters to tune with.
Or, $50 for a rebuild kit for an APT Qjet from http://www.cliffshighperformance.com/carbkits.html

For a $30 rebuild kit and (if needed) a $30 booklet on How to Rebuild and Modify the Q-Jet Carb (by Cliff Ruggles), you can have that "new" carb.....or, at least, a much better OLD carb than any new one you can buy. If there's nothing broken on your Q-Jet, just rebuild it and save several hundred dollar$.
