Default C4 Wheels and Tires

Why is it that none of the C4 Guys put aftermarket wheels on their cars like the C5 Guys? If the C5 Wheels will fit a C4, wouldnt that hold true for aftermarket wheels also? I am in the market for some aftermarket wheels, but I am unsure how they would look. I am looking at the CCWs and HRE. I am not sure which would look the best. Am I alone in thinking these cars would look unreal with these things? For some reason everyone goes with the Z06 or ZR1. I think they look great, and they were my first thought. Would a C4 look good with a 19in rear and 17in front with a Huge Lip on it? Let me know what your thoughts are!

Personally I like to have rims all the same size. I am looking for knock off ZR-1 chromes for mine, I don't want to cheapen the look of my C-4 with aftermarket rims. I know there are some great rims out there but I like the factory look.

Plenty of folks have aftermarket wheels, they just don't post pics that's all.

But on the other hand, why spend more on wheels and tires than the car is worth?

I can't see spending $5000 for HRE's and another $1600 on Michelins on a car that's worth $10,000.

I did try my buddies CCW's and they look great, but I already have 5 sets of wheels for both my cars.

The last pic is my car with Weld Wheels.

I really like the aftermarket wheels on one of the Forum members burgundy 87 coupe, can't remember their name, but the wheels I think are Ridals, with black centers and polished rims. A classic look, that still looks good today(to me anyways).

If you want pics of 18" HRE's on a C4 then check out my website in the link in my sig. There are tons of pics of my car with 18 x 9.5 and 18 x 10.5 HRE 547R's on Michelin Pilot Sports.

Personally, I think the HRE's look simply awesome on a C4!

I think other rims would look great on a c4 the only problem is that all aftermarket rims are 18" or 19" which would effect the driving of the car. 17" on the car is pretty much as far as i would go if i wanted to get a good launch of the car. The bigger the rim the thinner the tire. Not go for drag racing a little better for handling. Plus it very hard to find a 17x11 aftermarket for a good price

I think 17s are too small for aftermarket multi piece wheels. For multi piece designs the out rim takes an inch away therefore the actual spoke (center piece) is only 16". When you look at the wheel you only see the center piece so they have the effect of looking really small, fat, and cluttered.

If you do get wheels I would go min. of 18" all around if not 19s.

18" Fikse FM5s. The classic Fikse's only go up to 18", I wish they had 19s.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT Here are some 19's for you. I have aftermarket Mallet 18x9.5x11 wheels made for a C5. I used have Speedline Alsieo's in same size, but ended up putting them on my Trans Am. Look over in C5 for sale section for used and new C5 wheels.
