1988 knock sensor tune

If you are referring to "knock counts", that is just an indication of the amount of times the knock was heard.
The only way that I know how to change the speedo reading is with a different set of gears that goes in the trans, but I have a ZF6.

I have heard of people changing knock sensors and ESC modules to reduce the knock counts reported to the ECM.
Basically the knock sensor is a microphone and the ESC module filters out the noise and puts out a signal that goes to ground each time it detects what it thinks is a knock.
I don't know of any way to change the operation of the knock sensing inside the ECM. Maybe that was added in later ECMs (like in 1990 and later).

When my tune was being done on my 383 , my tuner said he changed the sensitivity of my knock sensor because of excessive knock counts..I think he said he did it in one of the scalers in tunerpro ,but I don't know for sure...I have no knowledge of tuning and I'm just quoting what I was told by him...You can change the sensitivity of the knock sensor by a lesser amount just by changing the torque setting used to install the sensor, this I have done.....WW
