Intense Engine Vibration Advice.
After driving the car hard yesterday for most of the day the car started having intense engine vibration than vibrates the whole car.
It happens at lower RPM between 1800 and 2700 RPM
Does it with and without clutch engaged, and with and without being in gear.
Could it maybe be an engine mount? (I was doing a lot of hard cornering.)
What's my starting point for diagnostics?

I had an old Ford that threw one of the springs out of the clutch during some spirited driving. That would throw things out of balance. If there are no engine codes, I would start looking for something that would upset the balance.

Check the balancer and also check for DTCs and see if you have a misfire.

I know you said it does it with the clutch disengaged but...when my prop shaft bushings were on their way out I had a vibration under moderate acceleration. It wouldn't do it accelerating easily or hard. It felt like I was running over those rumble strips on the edge of highways.

Thanks guys, found the problem.
The X-pipe I have allows you to keep the rear O2 sensors...on one the thread was a little gimpy so I had used some high temp gasket maker and some JB weld to hold it in place....when I was at the track yesterday my last lap was the fastest and I guess the JB Weld gave up the ghost lol....blew the O2 sensor out of the whole...at the right RPM it was vibrating the loose sensor between the bottom of the car and the MidPipe.
Easy fix, those O2's have been deactivated and are there just for show for the smog guy....will just remove them and block off the bung.
As an aside, Charlie ported my oil pump instead of replacing or upgrading it....my oil pressures are much higher and better than before, and after a full day of hard track driving with five 20 minute session where my RPM was over 5000 most of the time my oil temps never went over 259 degrees....was pretty impressed with that on this 130,000 mile car.

Balancer along with most other pulleys and tensioners etc have been replaced...had the crank pinned for added measure too even though its not boosted.

It did sound like something was HORRIBLY WRONG, because besides the vibration I was hearing a metal clunking sound occasionally when the sensor was bouncing around in there.
Couldn't figure out why it still felt like it had the same power though with all those horrible sounds lol
Glad it was just that.

yeah I was trying not to get too alarmed until I found the problem but in the back of my mind I was freakin out a little bit, and planning the next engine budget and choices.

Removed the redundant rear O2 sensors and blocked off the bungs and she is running like scalded cat again without any disturbing noises ;-)
