Default 228r gain bad

hi folks

I was at 305whp on my c5 a4 stock

Put a 3.42, 2800 stall, 228rcam and spring. Push rod and 243 head

367wrhp

Broke 243 head, was castech casting, put back my 241 head with spring

317whp. Normal ?

You aren't going to get much hp gain on stock heads, especially when the cam isn't designed for it. I wouldn't waste time on a retune until you get proper heads.

The 228R will work with stock heads. You'll be leaving some power on the table but it still works very nice!

This picture is a straight up install. If the motor was rotated before the timing chain was installed then the cam will not open the valves correctly.
