I'd recommend asking someone that has experience cleaning a 1995 C4 engine bay. There has to be someone on this forum.

Great post but with all due respect you were remis to not recommend disconnecting the ground first.
Thanks for the suggestion!

Best write up on this I've seen. Many thanks! Does Autogeek offer the cleaners and brushes in a kit?

Not yet, but I'll certainly put something together!

One of the featured products, Detailer's Trim Detailer, is actually on BOGO through August 31st.

op: awesome thread, nice work.

coach62: why is that? i've been using foil for years and never disconnected battery. is there potential for frying the covered component or worse, me getting zapped?

Another observation. A new car needs as much attention to detail as a five year old one. If you are consistent and detail from day one of ownership, your work time will be minimal and the outcome will be incredible. Don't let your engine bay get to one of those "before" pictures and you will always have an "after" engine bay.

Research and try products out. Remember everything is subjective as far as products go unless you are comparing apples to apples. Just because a product is more expensive doesn't mean it is better.
